Class B Quarter Finals
Eastridge (#6) won a stunning victory over Victor (#3) in the first round of the Class B tournament this afternoon. The Lancers scored 9 goals in the first half and ended the game up 15-9. Aquinas (#2) had a 12-5 win against Brighton (#7) and HFL beat Newark 18-2.
Eastridge 15 - Victor 9
Victor scored the first goal of the game and then Eastridge scored the next 5. The first quarter ended 4-1 and Eastridge scored five more in the second while holding Victor to 1. The first half ended with Eastridge 9-2 and the Lancers ended up winning 15-9.
Scoring for the Lancers were Brandon Moynihan (4g-2a), Alex Austin (3g-4a). Riley Austin (4g), Matt Driffill (3a), Kevin Mahler (2g-1a), Adam Sisson (1g), and Shane Driffill (1g). Eugene Ferrera had an outstanding game making 18 saves. The Lancers will play Aquinas in a 7:00 game on June 3rd at Waterloo. No report from Victor
HFL 18 - Newark 2
HFL went to work quickly, scoring five goals in the first quarter and adding four more before the half on their way to a 9-2. While holding the Reds scoreless in the second half, the Cougars added seven goals in the third and two more in the fourth before finishing with a 18-2 win at home.
Twelve different players made the scorebook for the Cougars. Zach Jonas was 21 of 25 on face offs and lead the Cougars with ten ground balls. Matt Lesczynski added a season best 3 goals and 1 assist. JR O' Flynn added up 4 assists for HFL and Kevin O'Leary added 3 assists while Cade Norris scored 5 goals and Zach Whyte contributed 4 goals.
Scoring for HFL were Cade Norris (5g), Ian Griffin (2g), Zach Whyte (4g), Matt Lesczynski (3g-1a), Mickey Allan (1g-2a), Jim Burgasser (1g-1a), Zach Jonas (1g), Mike Coady (1g), Tyler Burgasser (1a), J.R. O`Flynn (4a), Bryan Gardner (1a) and Kevin O`Leary (3a). Sophomore goalie Jay Tallon had 6s/2ga for HFL who will take on Geneva in a semi final game at 5:00 at Waterloo on June 3rd.
Scoring for Newark were Stephen Johnson (2g) and Colin Johnson (1a). Ben Hartman had 17s/18ga for Newark who finish their season at 7-12. No report from Newark.

Aquinas 12 - Brighton 5
Aquinas (#2) beat the Barons (#7) as they won the first quarter 4-0 and finished up 12-5. The Little Irish led at the half 8-3. Aquinas will take on Eastridge in the semi finals (June 3rd, 7:00 at Waterloo HS.)
Scoring for Aquinas was Marc Brondon 2g-1a, Cameron Corsaro 2g-1a, Anthony Bianchi 2g, Neil Foley 2g, Jasen Torres 1g-2a, Austin Gorman 1g, Mike Messina 1g, and Dylan Pinto 1g. Kraig Heston had 9 saves.
Scoring for Brighton were C.J.Wool (1g), Maliek Likely (1a), Taylor Galbraith (1g-1a), Evan Davis (2g-1a), Richie Wellington (1g) and Mark Henrichs (1a). Kyle Hohmann played the whole game in cage and had 23s/12ga. Connor Stucki lead the Barons with 7 GB's. Freshmen face off man, Max Brauer won 71%.
