Thomas wasted no time, taking the next face off down the field to where Keith Maimine scored just 15 seconds later.
Brighton did settled down and made some big plays on defense and offense and gave junior middie Evan Davis a scoring play with 5:32 left in the first.
After that it was all Thomas. They scored three goals all by different players. Nick Scalzo scored easily after a broken clear. WIlliam Gurowski and Pat Morrill each added a goal to give Thomas a 5-1 lead after one quarter.
The second quarter was all about defense as both teams made great stands in front of their goalies. Brighton goalie Kyle Hohmann made some spectacular saves during his first game as a starter. Defensively the Rangers showed good stick skills but as good as the defensive checks were, The Rangers lost opportunities when they were unable, at times, to control the ball after checking it from the sticks.
