Thursday: Heat Wave - High 70

It was cold enough for snow a few days ago, but today it was in the high 70's in Monroe County.
  
 Livonia improved its record to 4-4 with a strong home game victory over Greece Odyssey, 15-5, at Saunders Field. The game started out slowly with the Bulldogs taking the first quarter, 2-1 behind goals by junior attackman, Josh Hendrickson who ended the day with 5g. Livonia came alive in the next two quarters, scoring 5g in the second and 7g in the third quarter while the defense contributed by holding the Leopards to a single goal in the second half.
  
Coach Sciera lauded close defenders, Kevin Thomas, Shane Moran, Ray Miles, Andy Kurtz and Sam Pecorella for doing an outstanding job. Senior goal tender, Jake Auburn, and Sophomore goalie, Aaron Jamison split time in the goal and combined for 10 saves.
  
Livonia saw scoring from five players other than Hendrickson including senior middie, Tom Every (5g) who also led his team in gb production with 12. Ryan Rossborough (2g-3a), Aaron Young (3g) and John Dalberth (2g) also helped the Bulldogs while Scott Mosher and Chad Britton each added 1g-1a.
  
Odyssey's goals came from senior middies, Eric Castro who scored 4g and Rob Weilert who recorded 3a for the Leopards (0-9). [No report from Eastridge.]
  
 It took Webster Thomas about thirty-five minutes to get in control of their home contest against Rush-Henrietta and to win 9-3. The Titans took a 2-0 lead in the first quarter with two goals by senior middie, Steve Hutton. R-H scored the only goal in the second quarter when senior attackman, Tyler Allen scored on a feed from senior midfielder, Joe Malach at the 6:57 mark. The half ended with Thomas up, 2-1.
  
R-H tied the game when Allen scored at 6:58 in the third on an assist by junior attackman, Nick Garnier. Another five minutes came off the clock, before Thomas made their move and scored the next five unanswered goals.
  
With just over one minute left in the third, senior middie, Chris Callahan scored an unassisted goal. At the 0:20 mark, sophomore attackman, Kevin Kemp scored with an assist by defenseman, AJ Laffin.
  
The Titans remained fired up and went right back to scoring in the final quarter with goals by Andy Episcapo, Kemp (from Schumacher) and senior middie, Nick Dalton. R-H senior middie, Joe Malach scored an unassisted, man up goal at 1:36, but Thomas came back with goals by freshman attackman, Dom Scalzo and Kemp in the last minute of the game.
  
Thomas senior goalie, Boomer Concordia (18s) made numerous key saves starting with four big ones in the last two minutes of the first quarter and then throughout the game.
  
The Titan move to 7-3 while the the Royal Comets drop to 1-8.
  
 It was Pittsford over host HFL, 12-5 with Jake Boyce scoring 3g-2a and four other Panther players scoring two goals each. Senior middie, RJ Lamontagne had 2g-3a while juniors, Justin Rand and Dylan Bittlingmaier each added 2g-1a for the Panthers. Senior attackman, Dave Wallace scored 2g and sophomore, Greg Gans added an assist.
  
Junior attackmen, Mike Cintineo scored 2g-1a and Zane Witzel added 1g-1a for HFL.. David Uzialko and Jeff Price scored a goal a piece and Erich Dehm and Chris Stanton added one assist each for the Cougars.
  
"Pittsford's speed and ball movement were the deciding factors," said HFL Head Coach, Rick Pound. Pittsford scored the first six goals and ended the half up, 6-0. HFL came back in the second half, scoring five goals to the Panther's six. HFL drops to 7-2 and Pittsford moved up to 5-3.
  
 Penn Yan won another one as they beat Victor, 9-2 in Finger Lakes action Penn Yan. The Mustangs had two goal games from junior attackman, John Van Houten (2g-1a), senior middie, Brendan Hamm (2g-1a) and sophomore middies, Dan Mesler (2g) and Dan McGuffie (2g). Steve Carlson (Soph-Mid) added 1g-3a for Penn Yan Freshman goalie, RJ Wickham made 13 saves for the Mustangs (8-2).
  
Scoring for Victor were senior midfielder, Ben Cerza and senior attackman, Chris Potter. Andy Bowerman recorded 17 saves for the Blue Devils (4-5)
  
 Fairport saw 1g-2a from sophomore attackman, Pat Reilly and 1g from senior middie, Rich Sacko on the way to their win against Hilton, 10-2.Pete Gibbons led the offense with 3g-2a and Pat VanHall added 2g. Three other Fairport players each scored a goal, including Jeff Sanna, Nik Bryan and Mike Danylyshyn. Goalies, Sean Miller, Geoff Mayor and Zack Harris combined for 8 saves while Gibbons won 4 of 5 face offs for the Red Raiders.
  
Eighth grade attackman, Mitch Ritchie and senior middie, Tyler Enders each had a goal while junior goalie, Dom Collichio made 22 saves for the Cadets (2-7). Fairport advanced to 4-5.
  
 Penfield remained undefeated with their win over Eastridge 16-2 before the home town crowd. Junior attackman, Tim Pfeffer scored 3g-1a and sophomore middie, Kelly McKenna, junior middie, Mike Thon, and junior attackman, Trevor Rice each added two goals for the Patriots (9-0).
  
Both Lancer goals were scored by junior midfielder, Kevin Kimber. Eastridge drops to 1-8. [No reports from Penfield or Eastridge.]
  
 Irondequoit improved their record to 5-3 with a win over Brighton, 13-3 as Jon Timkey and Sean Doyle each scored 2g-1a. Jim Mikel added 1g-4a and Craig Lepiane added 2g for the Eagles.
  
Junior attackman, Mike Ryerson scored twice for the Barons (4-4) [No reports from Irondequoit or Brighton.]
  
 Brothers, Luke (3g-3a) and Greg (2g-2a) Bonney led Geneva to a 14-9 win at Newark .Although the Panthers took a 6-0 lead, Newark came back to tie at 7 in the third quarter as junior attackman, Jason scored on a behind the back shot. Geneva's John Warner ended the game with 2g-1a and senior middie, Dan Rago added 5g for Geneva (5-4).
  
Scoring for Newark were Johnson (3g), senior attackman, Nate Colon (2g-1a) and senior midfielder, Mychal Wilkes (3g-). Sophomore goalie, Anthony Cole recorded 24 saves for Newark (3-5). [No report from Geneva.]
