Five Players Make Tryout Pool for National Team

US LacrosseFive Section Five players have been selected to join the tryout pool for the US National 19 and Under team that will compete in the FIL World Championships in British Columbia this July.

The pool, consisting of 108 of some of the best high school players in the country will include, from Section Five:

Senior midfielder Brandon Barker - Pittsford - Ohio State
Senior midfielder Kevin Hill - Webster Thomas - Penn State
Senior goalie Willie Klan - Penfield - Ohio State
Junior midfielder F/O Jamie Trimboli - Victor - Syracuse
Junior defenseman/LSM Jared Conners - Pittsford - Virginia

An initial tryout will take place from June 29th to July1st at Stevenson University (Maryland). The pool will be reduced to fifty players who will have another tryout from August 7th-9th at Johnson Hopkins University (Maryland) and then to the final team of 23 players. Almost 400 players applied for the spots.

The team will attempt to win their 8th consecutive world title under Head Coach Nick Meyers (Ohio State), with assistants Patrick Myers (Penn), Chuck Ruebling (Delbarton School) and Peter Toner (Penn State).
