In our fifth group we have four players who have had noteworthy performances in the last few weeks.

Offensive Player of the Week

Sean OlvanyThomas Gravino - Victor Midfielder

Thomas Gravino leads theVictor Blue Devils in goals (46) and points (62) and he comes up big when his team need him. He scored both the tying and the overtime winning goals at Pittsford and was in five of the team's seven goals (4g-1a). He scored 4g-2a in the 10-8 win against Brighton. The Maryland commit has 124g-53a in his three years in the Varsity to this point and was selected as a USA Lacrosse All-American has a junior.

Victor Head Coach Dan Stone says: "Thomas draws attention with and without the ball. He is often counted on to create opportunities for himself and teammates. Thomas continues to find ways to be impactful and maintain an awareness of the fine line between being productive and doing too much himself."

Offensive Player of the Week

Sean OlvanyTano Auriuso - Aquinas Attackman

Tano Auriuso is a freshman offensive player for Aquinas in his second year on the Varsity and a career record of 81g-46a. In their 16-10 game with Geneva, Tano figured in half the team's goals (6g-1a) and even though they lost to a strong Akron team he recorded 7g-3a.

Aquinas Head Coach Terry Corcoran says: "Tano is an aggressive dodger who goes to the goal hard and doesn’t shy away from physical contact. At the same time, he has the ability to get the ball to his teammates when they are open and he is a relentless rider."

Defensive Player of the Week

Nick LepianeNick Lepiane - Irondequoit Goalie

Nick Lepiane is in his third year on the Irondequoit varsity. In the Eagle's 12-10 win over HF-L Nick registered eleven saves that made a difference. In their Ithaca win he made 64% and overall has made 117 saves, averaging nine per game.

Irondequoit Head Coach Aaron Bottazzo says, "Nick has been great in goal for us this season, especially during this stretch we've gone on the past week and half. Nick makes saves he should be making but he consistently makes saves when the opposing team is right on the doorstep, when it seems like a certain goal. Nicks strong play in goal has given the team a huge spark to help get momentum and gain confidence, it has been a huge piece to our recent success."

Defensive Player of the Week

Leo CohrsJonathan Bucciarelli - Greece Storm Goalie

Third year Varsity goalie Jonathan Bucciarelli is a major reason for improvements in the Greece Storm defense. They junior Jacksonville commit is a 62% save percentage goalie made 11s/4ga (73%) in their overtime win vs Livonia-Avon and 8s/3ga (73%) in their 5-3 win vs Eden.

Greece Head Coach Shane Cole says, "He is the hardest worker on and off the field. Very polite and respectful kid. Always put the team before himself. He is the defensive anchor for our team and he is a leader by example. Jonathan always stays late after practice and is a dedicated member of our team."
