Saturday: Victor over Kiskayuna, CA over Penn Yan

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Tere were a dozen games played today and most were mismatches, Canandaigua beat Penn Yan by a single goal and Victor beat Niskayuna 15-7. West Genesee edged out Penfield by one goa (13-12) and Mynderse posted a shutout at Waterloo. Other local winners were Irondequoit, Pal-Mac, Schroeder, Fairport, Geneva, Spencerport, and Marcus Whitman.

Wayne at IrondequoitHAMBURG-7 at FAIRPORT-14 - The Red Raiders wasted no time, scoring six unanswered goals in the first quarter and then trading three goals before the half. Scoring for Fairport (4-2) were Sam Pucci (2g-5a), Mitchell Monte (1g-2a) and Michael Priddy (4g) who scored his first Varsity goal in the game. Also scoring were Bobby Cameron (3g), Jack DeBose (1g), Ryan Pedro (2g-1a), and Nicholas Fosegan (1g). Facing off for Fairport was freshman Marc Hillier with 10+/4- = 71%. WAYNE-9 at IRONDEQUOIT-17 - Head Coach Aaron Bottazzo celebrated his 25th win for Irondequoit as they scored a run of eight and then a run of six for the win over visiting Wayne. Wayne had a run of three goals in the last two minutes of the third quarter. It was the first time that the two teams had played each other.

Wayne at IrondequoitNEWARK-5 at PAL-MAC-17 - The Red Raiders recorded ten goals in the first quarter and added four more before the half in this Finger Lakes League game. Nine different players made the offensive book for Pal-Mac including freshman Brandon Dennie who scored his first Varsity goal in this game. Leading the scoring for Pal-Mac (2-2) were Mike Halsey (3g-5a), Keagan Hoesterey (4g-2a), and Devon McKoy (3g-1a). In the goal for Pal-Mac was Peyton Lich with 13s/5ga = 72% (48 mins).

Mynderse at WaterlooWEST GENESEE-13 at PENFIELD-12 - A first quarter deficit of 6-3 was tough for the Patriots to overcome, despite their chipping away at those three points throughout the rest of the game. Leading the scoring for Penfield (4-2) were Derek Torres (3g-2a), Adam Schembri (2g-1a), and Zach Shores (1g-1a).  Leading the charge for the Wildcats (3-3) were Nolan Bellotti (4g), Liam Burns (2g-3a and Ryan Considine (3g-5a).    [ BOX SCORE

MYNDERSE-16 at WATERLOO-0 - Sophomore midfielder Jerimiah Fils, who scored his first Varsity goal was among the nine different players making the offensive book for the Blue Devils. Leading the scoring for Mynderse (2-1) were Griffin Hilimire (6g-2a), Lucas Stevers (3g-1a), and junior Mason Buckley (1g-2a). Mynderse at WaterlooGANANDA-2 at GENEVA-18 - The Panthers scored ten goals in the first half and eight more in the second while holding the Blue Panthers to one goal in each half. Eight different players made the offensive book including freshmen Ryland Dunham (3g-4a) and Cooper Trickler (2g) who both scored their first Varsity goal today. 

Also scoring for Geneva (1-3) were Max Heieck (2g-5a), Ryan Brown (3g-2a), and Jeremy Askin (1g-2a). Facing off was Jeremy Askin with 16+/1- = 94%, Austin Moore with 1+/0- = 100%, and Dominick Vedora with 4+/0- = 100%. In the goal for Geneva was junior Dakota Bajdas with 4s/2ga = 67% (48 mins). Geneva travels to Haverling on Tuesday.

BATAVIA-NOTRE DAME-3 at KENMORE WEST-21 - Kenmore West (Section VI) led 13-2 at the half and added eight more in the second half.  Scoring for Batavia-Notre Dame (0-4) were Ryan Hamilton (1g-1a), Cooper Hamilton (1g-1a), and Quintin Cummings (1g).  There was no information available for Kenmore West at post-time.    [ BOX SCORE

Mynderse at WaterlooBLOOMFIELD-HONEOYE-3 at MARCUS WHITMAN-13 - The first quarter ended in a 2-2 tie and Marcus Whitman then added three unanswered goals to lead at the half 6-2. Eight different players scored for the Wildcats (2-2) including Brody Royston (1g-6a), Rylan Weissinger (3g), and Melkamu Blueye (2g). In the goal for Marcus Whitman was Blake Dunton with 12s/3ga = 80% (47 mins).

Canandaigua at Penn YanSPENCERPORT-16 at EAST AURORA-3 - The Rangers scored first and never lost the lead as seven different players scored including sophomore midfielder Zachary Ajavananda who scored his first Varsity goal. Scoring for Spencerport (4-1) were Cameron Mesh (4g), freshman midfielder Zach Tortora (4g), sophomore midfielder Jayden Rodriguez (3g-1a), sophomore A/MTrevor Lewis (2g-1a), and sophomore midfielder Zachary Ajavananda (1g-1a). Also scoring were Dylan Lewis (1g) and Ashton McNair (1g). Facing off was Cameron Mesh with 11+/1- = 92%. VICTOR-15 at NISKAYUNA-7 - In another demonstrative statement game, the Blue Devils took on another nationally ranked team and beat them. Outscoring the Silver Arrows 10-4 in the first half, Victor handed Niskayuna (5-1) their first loss of the season. In the third quarter Victor scored a back-breaking three goals in under two minutes.

Leading the scoring for Victor (4-1) were Jack Herendeen (3g-2a), Connor Magin (3g-2a), Thomas Gravino (3g-2a), and Sam Gotham (2g-1a). Sam Ricci was, once again, a major factor at the faceoff X with 23+/2- = 92%. Victor goalie Brady Robinson recorded 8s/7ga = 53% (48 mins). Canandaigua at Penn YanCANANDAIGUA-6 at PENN YAN-5 - In one of the longest rivalries in the Section, Canandaigua led 5-4 at the end of three quarters. With 1:32 left in the third quarter Tukker Fisher tied the game at 4-4 with an assists from Carter Earl. The tie was short-lived as Braden Gioseffi took the game to 5-4 CA with four seconds left in the third. Both teams scored one in the last stanza. With the win, Canandaigua maintains their undefeated season (6-0) and Head Coach Deven York won his 75th game for CA.

Scoring for Canandaigua were Sean Olvany (2g-1a), Braden Gioseffi (2g), Drew Williamee (1g-1a), and Ryan Bremer (1a). Facing off for Canandaigua was sophomore Mason DePew with 4+/0- = 100%, and senior Luke McCrobie with 6+/4- = 60%. Next up for the Braves is Brighton on Tuesday.
