Players of the Week - First Group

Section V Boys Lacrosse Coordinator Mike Simon in conjunction with the Canandaigua National Bank are, once again, sponsoring recognition of noteworthy performances throughout the season.

For our first group we have two juniors who had noteworthy performances since the start of the season.

Offensive Player of the Week

Sam RicciAnthony DeRosa - Schroeder Midfielder

Anthony DeRosa scored nine points against Gates Chili and then added another seven points, including 6 assists against Greece as well. The junior midfielder was the catalyst for both of those wins and sixteen points in two games is impressive.

Webster Schroeder Head Coach Don Manard says: "Anthony is a true leader on and off the field. His lacrosse IQ has helped transition several of our offensive sets with making on field adjustments to get several of his teammates involved by reading defensive sets. Anthony possesses the talent that is warranted at the next level and with it being so early in the season I am looking forward to what he brings to this team as we progress."

Defensive Player of the Week

Jason MosherRyan Bowerman - Penfield Defenseman

Junior defenseman Ryan Bowerman had seven groundballs and five takes against Churchville-Chili. He had an assist, two groundballs and another take in the Patriot's season-opening win against West Seneca East.

Penfield Head Coach John Schembri says, "His tenacious play on opponents best offensive weapons and his ability to create transition offense in the clearing game sets him apart."
