The final 2008 State poll is out today and Section Five had, once again, a total of eight teams who made the list sponsored by the New York State Sportswriters Association. Canandaigua dropped from the #4 position to #6 with Irondequoit remaining at #11 and Penfield remaining at #12. Thomas and McQuaid Jesuit are on the honorable mention list.
  
In Class B, Geneva moves up from #14 to #10 and Aquinas remains on the honorable mention list.
  
In Class C, Penn Yan remains in the #10 slot.

The top spots went to the Champions, West Genesee (Section 11) in Class A, Rocky Point (Section 11) in Class B and Mt. Sinai (Section 11) in Class C.
