Throughout the first quarter, both teams had chances at the cage. Pal-Mac scored the opener with Hoesterey scoring his first goal of the game. Less than twenty seconds later, Livonia-Avon tied up the game for the first of three times. The Lakers' opening goal was scored by senior AJ Peri. Peri scored after a face-off fast-break, he fought through much of the crease defense and finished into the back of the cage for nearly point blank. The Lakers kept up their offensive threats with another goal three minutes later. Off another unsettled situation, Peri fed the ball to the middle and eighth grader Brayden Arber scored. Arber was a standout during the contest, finishing with two of the team's three goals. In addition to his points total, he demonstrated repeated heads-up play for his team. The Red Raiders scored the final goal of the quarter was scored during man-up play. With 1:20 remaining on the clock, Hoesterey scored his second. This time off a loose ball pick-up near the crease. Rose stopped the first shot, but failed to control the rebound and Hoesterey took advantage. The score was tied 2-2 after the first twelve minutes.
In the second quarter, neither team scored with both defenses stepping up. Pal-Mac's Peytong Lich added two more saves to his game total of 5 saves. Rose added another 3 in the quarter. Defensively, Pal-Mac's Carson Lich and Henry Beaton stepped up to keep the Lakers off the scoreboard. For Livonia-Avon, senior Owen Weterrings and Colin Ellsworth combined with Rose to keep the Red Raiders off the board. The second quarter ended the same as the first with a 2-2 tie.
In the fourth quarter, Pal-Mac took over the lead 4-3. Hoesterey scored with a midrange outside shot from the right side. The Red Raiders took over the lead with 9:00 left on the clock. As play continued, Pal-Mac was assessed two different penalties, but their man-down defense stepped up and kept the Lakers from tying the score. With just over three minutes left, the Red Raiders took over the offense and drew a penalty flag from the Lakers. They continued to hold onto the ball during the flag down for over two minutes. Keeping the flag down play going until 0:41 left on the clock. The Red Raiders took the ball and just held on as the clock rode down. The Red Raiders will move on to face Honeoye Falls-Lima in the finals on Saturday.
