Ryan Archer drove from behind the cage and fed across the crease to Joseph Kiesa. The Red Rams sat at 1-0 for seven minutes before scoring again in man-up. Jack Mulvihill scored off a feed to the crease from Griffin Cook. The final goal of the opening quarter was scored with 1:54 remaining. Cook scored during a fast-break with a feed from Kiesa.
In the third quarter, both teams added two goals and JD held the one goal lead. CSH tied the game with a drive from behind by Laviano only 0:38 into the half. Two minutes later, JD took back the lead with an outside shot by Archer. The game continued with JD holding the single goal lead for seven minutes before CSH tied the game again. Will Reed stopped a loose ball as it went to the sideline and came driving back in to the cage. When the slide came, he crossed to Matt Licciardi to tie the game for the second time. The Red Rams scored their seventh goal with a dodge from behind by Andrew Barclay and a dump to Archer on the flat. Jamesville-Dewitt led 7-6 after three quarters.
JD called a timeout after the goal and attempted to regroup. Although the Red Rams held CSH scoreless for the remainder of the game, their offense could only get one more goal. In general, the Cold Spring Harbor defense was stellar. They played a great four quarters with goalie Chris Porzelt finishing with 11 saves (9 in the first half). Defensemen Hunter Guarneri and Matt DeGennaro joined Dylan Guarneri in having a great game for the Seahawks. The Red Rams scored the final goal with 3:52 remaining with Fontana scoring off a feed from Kiesa. The final four minutes did not see any additional scoring and Cold Spring Harbor was able to hold on for the win.
