Schroeder Late Goal Gives Win Over HF-L

April 17, 2014 — Webster Schroeder scored the lone goal of the fourth quarter in order to defeat HF-L 9-8. The Warriors trailed at the start of the second quarter but scored four unanswered goals spanning into the third quarter to keep the game close. During the second half, the teams traded goals four times in a row.

Schroeder opened the scoring with David Laspina assisting Joe Saltrelli. HF-L scored the next four goals to take a 4-1 lead with 6:11 remaining in the half. All four goals were scored by different Cougars: Alex Mapstone, Tim Breau, Ryan Kelly and Dylan Stratton. Mapstone, Breau and Stratton each added an assist during the run. Schroeder turned the quarter around in the final six minutes of the half.

The Warriors scored three goals before the time expired. Mike Trass scored all three goals, with the first assisted by Blake Balcaen. Trass finished with 3g-2a for the Warriors. The score was tied 4-4 going into halftime.
