For McQuaid Jesuit, Rawleigh also had a strong first quarter with 5 saves of his own (out of 12 total). The Patriots kept up the pressure with back to back goals by Joyce. With 3:16 left in the half, Will DiMarco scored for the Knights. The final goal of the half was a series of quick passes with Maurer once again finding Banister open for the goal. Penfield led 5-2 going into halftime.

After multiple dodges he drove to the cage and put the shot into the upper right corner to increase the Patriot lead back to two. Penfield led 8-6 going into the fourth quarter.
