# 2842 The Pride Defeats the Spartans Monday: DAY IN REVIEW: In the only game played today, the Bloomfield-Honeoye Pride defeated the visiting Gates Chili Spartans 13-9. After a 1-1 tie in the first quarter, the Pride took off with six unanswered goals and never looked back. Sophomore attackman Max Willix (4g) and senior midfielder Devin Campbell (2g-2a) led the offense while sophomore goalie Owen Saxby recorded 11 saves (55%). Blake Palozzi led the Spartan effort with five goals. |
# 2806 Newark Holds off Late Gates Chili Push Newark scored the first three goals in their 5-4 win over Gates Chili and never gave the Spartans a chance to tie up the game. The Reds were led in scoring by Matt Card (4g). Kyle Martinez scored the game opener (unassisted) before Card finished out the scoring with four straight goals for Newark. The Spartans were led by Kyle Krystan with 2g-1a. The opening goal for Gates Chili was scored when Zane Tuller assisted Blake Palozzi with 10:45 remaining in the second quarter. Krystan then responded with two back to back goals in the third and an assist in the fourth to Anthony Nguyen. Although the Spartans scored the last two goals, they never tied up the game and Reds ran out the clock. |
# 1410 Week in Review: Week 8 The regular season ended on Friady with four of the five games played having an impact of the tournament seeding. Fairport, for example, played Corning and earned a 75% season with their win. Everyone team that played Fairport this year earned additional points toward seeding with that win. The Tournament seeding was released on Friday night and the games will begin on May 21st. Three hundred and eight games have been played thus far. Seventy out of Section games have been played. Section five teams have won forty-nine (70%). Victor, Thomas, HF-L, Gananda and McQuaid Jesuit ended the season at the top of their leagues. |
# 1408 Regular Season Ends with Five Games Friday: DAY IN REVIEW: The regular season ended today with five games played and most of them had an impact of the tournament seeding. Gates Chili played the game of the season as they scored 15 goals and held Eastridge to 14 with Kyle Krystan leading the scoring with 4g-3a. Brighton finished their season at 8-8 with a loss to St. Joesph's (Section 6). Gananda and Penfield both had big wins to finish their season. |
# 1370 Irondequoit and Hilton Get Overtime Wins Saturday: DAY IN REVIEW: Jack Brennan scored the overtime goal to give Irondequoit a 12-11 win over HFL tonight. Hilton won an 8-7 overtime win when Justin Mosher scored on a feed from Jordan DePetres. Marcus Whitman won an 11-9 victory over Gates Chili and Midlakes had a 10-8 win overt Mynderse. |
# 1351 Fingar Leads Gates Chili to Victory Gates Chili scored the first goal of the game and although Brockport forced the tie once, the Spartans never trailed. Gates Chili scored three goals to lead off the game in the first seven minutes. Blake Palozzi scored the game opened unassisted. Kyle Fingar scored the next two (the first assisted by Kyle Krystan). The Blue Devils responded with Ashton Howlett scoring unassisted to finish the first quarter at 3-1 Gates Chili. |
# 1349 CA takes Pittsford for their 2nd OT win TUESDAY: DAY IN REVIEW: Senior midfielder Alex Burley came up big for Canandaigua, scoring the tying and winning goals to give the Braves a 7-6 win at Pittsford that saw six ties. In what can only be described as surprising, Hilton scored eight unanswered goals in the first and second periods only to give up eight goals and the 11-10 win to Penfield. Max Hoadley scored the winning goal for the Patriots with 0:02 left in regulation. Gates Chili found themselves tied with Brockport early in the third quarter and after scoring two in a row, held off a last charge by the Blue Devils to take the 6-5 win. |
# 1211 Gates Chili Fights Back in Fourth Quarter for Win Gates Chili scored two goals in the final minute to secure their first lead since the game opening goal and defeat Eastridge 14-13. The Lancers led for nearly the entire game and had two different 5 goals leads over the Spartans. Gates Chili scored five of the last six and eight of the last ten goals in the comeback win. The game winning goal was scored by Nicholas Ehmann with 0:11 remaining on the clock. |
