Eastridge Beats Lighting by One
NOTES: Eastridge scored the first goal and only allowed the game to be tied once in their 10-9 win over Greece Arcadia/Olympia. The Lancers opening goal was scored by Clark Pearce with an assist from Andrew Doktor. Pearce finished the game with 3g-1a to lead his team. Attackman Donovan Fagan also finished with 3g-1a for the Lancers. Fagan scored his first goal two minutes later to give Eastridge the early 2-0 lead. Tyler Dalle scored an unassisted goal for the Lightning with 6:56 remaining in the first quarter during a man-up opportunity. Eastridge kept up the pressure with two more goals from Doktor and Ben Rebholz. Jake Mathis and Xavier Bakari scored for Greece to keep the game within a single goal after the first twelve minutes.
Dylan Bartlett tied the game for the only time with an assist from Mathis 1:31 into the second quarter. Eastridge then scored three unanswered goals to permanently secure their lead. Pearce, Fagan and Phil Peindel scored for the Lancers. Greece kept the game close for the remaining three quarters but could not tie the game again. Eastridge scored the final goal with 10:44 remaining in the final quarter with CJ Hiscock scoring off an assist from Rebholz. Eastridge led 10-7 at that point. The Lightning scored the final two goals but could not get a third. Dalle scored his fourth and final goal and Bartlett scored his second with an assist from Adrian Romero.
In the cage for Greece, Carson Butcher stepped into the cage for the first time and recorded seven saves. Butcher had never played goalie before tonight's contest. Midfielder Joseph Tortora led his team with five ground balls and defenseman Nick Santiago added another four. For Eastridge, Payton Christman recorded 18 saves.
