Section V Tournament Brackets Set Across All Four Classes
First-round action tips off May 21st • Finals at St. John Fisher, May 30th
The 2026 Section V Boys Lacrosse Tournament is officially underway, with all four classifications releasing their brackets and first-round play beginning
today, May 21st. From powerhouse programs chasing titles to upstart seeds looking to make noise, the field is set — and a pair of seeding tie-breakers in Class B added some early drama before a single whistle blew.
Quarters take place at higher seeds on May 23rd, semifinals at higher seeds on May 27th (5:00 or 7:30), and all four championship games go off at St. John Fisher on May 30th. One notable absence: Gananda opted out of the Class D field entirely.
Tie-breaker note — Two seeds in Class B were deadlocked heading into
bracket release. Thomas edged Brighton for the 5-seed on the strength of their head-to-head result; Schroeder claimed the 9-seed over Churchville-Chili the same way.
Class A Finals — May 30th, 5:30
McQuaid Jesuit enters as the top seed and draws a first-round bye, as does Penfield at 2. The opening action pits Fairport (3) against Greece Storm (6) and Rush-Henrietta (4) against the combined East United/Eastridge program (5). All four quarterfinal winners meet at higher seeds on the 23rd, with the final at Fisher set for 5:30 PM.
Class B Finals — May 30th, 10:00 AM
The largest field of the tournament features 11 teams, with Pittsford (1), Victor (2), and Hilton (3) all receiving byes into the quarters. The bracket has three first-round matchups: Spencerport (4) vs. Thomas (5), Brighton (6) vs. Gates Chili (11), and Irondequoit (7) vs. Churchville-Chili (10). The Canandaigua (8) vs. Schroeder (9) game opens the day as a Round 1 contest. Brighton and Schroeder both fell in tiebreaker decisions just to reach their current seeds, adding an extra chip-on-the-shoulder element to those games.
Class C Finals — May 30th, 12:30
Honeoye Falls-Lima takes the top line and a bye in an eight-team draw. The three
quarterfinal openers are Geneva (2) vs. Batavia/Notre Dame (7), Wayne (3) vs. Brockport (6), and Livonia/Avon/Geneseo (4) vs. Aquinas (5). The championship is scheduled for 12:30 PM at Fisher.
Class D Finals — May 30th, 3:00
Palmyra-Macedon claims the 1-seed and a bye in a nine-team field after Gananda opted out. Today's Round 1 slate has Waterloo (8) and Newark (9) playing for the right to face Pal-Mac next. The quarters also feature Penn Yan (2) vs. Mynderse-Romulus (7), Midlakes (3) vs. Bloomfield-Honeoye (6), and Marcus Whitman (4) vs. Haverling (5). The title game tips at 3:00 PM.
