Fingar's Four Goals Pace Penn Yan Past HF-L

HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA-5 at PENN YAN-15  - Penn Yan beat Honeoye Falls-Lima 15-5 Thursday evening in a non-league game, extending its winning streak to six and moving to 9-3. Seven different Mustangs scored, and Penn Yan outscored HF-L 11-1 over the first three quarters before the Cougars rallied for four goals in the fourth. HF-L moves to 8-4.

Senior Braden Fingar led Penn Yan with four goals and three assists, while Brody Keech added three goals. Greyson Hathway contributed two goals and an assist, Miles Ditzell added two goals and two assists, and Collin Bacher scored two goals. Tukker Fisher and Logan Sprague each added one goal, with Fisher chipping in two assists. Hathway went 13 for 22 on faceoffs. In goal, sophomore Wilson Oliva made 13 saves on 18 shots (72%) over 48 minutes.

For HF-L, Jackson Coon led with two goals and an assist, while Grady Goodberlet distributed three assists without scoring. Tanner Olin, Ben Segar and Marco Vengoechea each added one goal, with Vengoechea contributing an assist. In goal, junior Jason Bennett made 15 saves on 30 shots (50%) over 48 minutes.

Penn Yan hosts Hamburg on Saturday. HF-L hosts Brighton on Wednesday.
