Baldwin's Four Goals Pace Midlakes
MIDLAKES-14 at WAYNE-1 - Midlakes beat Wayne 14-1 Tuesday evening in a non-league game, extending its winning streak to six and moving to 7-3. Eight different Mergansers scored, with Wayne's only goal coming in the fourth quarter. Wayne falls to 5-5.
Senior Brendan Baldwin led Midlakes with four goals and two assists, while junior James Sprague added three goals and an assist. Walker Landschoot chipped in two goals, and Nate Lathrop, Carter Casper, Corbin Hughes, Sam Kuhn and Nathan Stramonine each scored one. Casper added two assists and Lathrop two as well. In goal, senior Stuart Quku made seven saves on eight shots (88%) over 48 minutes.
For Wayne, sophomore Stone Sozio scored the lone goal and junior Shane Coleman added an assist. In goal, freshman Gavin Hamel made 13 saves on 25 shots (52%) over 40 minutes.
Midlakes hosts Livonia-Avon-Geneseo on Thursday while0 Wayne travels to Waterloo.
