Ellison Leads Waterloo Past Newark
WATERLOO-8 at NEWARK-6 - Waterloo picked up its second win of the season Saturday morning, beating Newark 8-6 in a non-league game to move to 2-6.
Sophomore Jaidyn Ellison led Waterloo with three goals and two assists. Drake Alger, Gavin Jacobsen and Trevor Bush each added a goal and an assist, while Kyle Shangraw and Kayden Zona each scored. Senior Walter Bennett chipped in an assist. In goal, senior Dylan Acquilano made nine saves on 15 shots (60%) over 48 minutes.
For Newark, junior midfielder Evan Shulla accounted for all six of the Reds' goals. In goal, sophomore Paul Petrus made 12 saves on 20 shots (60%) over 48 minutes.
Both teams are back in action Tuesday evening, with Newark at Gananda and Waterloo at Midlakes.
