Hamel's 17 Saves Lift Wayne Past Greece Storm

GREECE STORM-6 at WAYNE-8 - Wayne picked up its second win of the season with an 8-6 non-league victory over Greece Storm on Monday evening, building a 6-2 halftime lead before Greece Storm outscored the Warriors 4-2 in the second half. The win gives Wayne a 2-3 series record against Greece Storm going back to 2022.
For Wayne (1-2), senior Emmett Haak led with three goals, while senior Tucker Eaton added two goals and two assists. Senior Shane Coleman contributed one goal and one assist, and Cody Crandell and Stone Sozio each added one goal. Junior Paxton Landon ran the offense with five assists. Freshman goalie Gavin Hamel was the standout of the game, stopping 17 shots for a 74% save percentage in 48 minutes.
For Greece Storm (1-4), senior James Maccallini led with four goals, while sophomore Michael Atseff III and senior Eric Odell each added one goal. Odell went 17-for-18 at the faceoff dot (94%). Senior Justin Fox stopped 11 shots for a 58% save percentage in goal. [ Story and BOX SCORE]
