2026 Preview: Irondequoit
Irondequoit Aims to Build on Momentum
Roster Outlook
Irondequoit enters the 2026 season following a 12-7 campaign and returns a substantial portion of its offensive production.

The Eagles graduated 14 seniors, a group that included attackmen Ryan Avery and Steven Clinkscales, midfielders such as Cam Forys, Cam Freeman, and Ben Wilson, and defenders including Miles Leva, George Ligozio, Taiden Makubire, and Alex Sherman. Two goalies Sven Habitzreuther and Caden VanDeusen also departed after anchoring the position last season.
Despite the size of the graduating class, Irondequoit retains 83% of its goals and 71% of its assists, giving the team a strong returning core. The roster includes ten rising seniors, two juniors, and four sophomores, creating a veteran-leaning group with meaningful experience.
Returning Standouts
Irondequoit brings back several award-winning players who will shape the team’s identity in 2026. Cooper Moore, a 2026 attack/midfielder committed to the USMA, headlines the returning group after a standout 53-goal, 20-assist season. He earned US Lacrosse All-American, 1st All-Section Team, Section 5 Class B All-Tournament Team, and
All-League First Team Attack (MC-d2) honors. Dylan Carey, a 2026 midfielder committed to St. John Fisher, returns after producing 18 goals and 14 assists and earning All-League Second Team Midfield (MC-d2).
Colin Giudice, a 2026 attackman committed to St. John Fisher University, adds another
scoring threat after an 18-goal, 18-assist season and All-League Honorable Mention Attack (MC-d2) recognition. Doug Velepec, a 2026 midfielder, contributed 18 goals and 3 assists and earned All-League Honorable Mention Midfield (MC-d2). Cristian Freeman, a 2026 midfielder, earned All-League Honorable Mention SSDM Midfield (MC-d2). Sam Thore, a 2026 defender/LSM comitted to Mercyhurst, returns after earning 2nd All-Section Team and All-League First Team LSM Midfield (MC-d2).
Coaching Information
Irondequoit continues under Head Coach Aaron Bottazzo, who enters his seventh season leading the program. Bottazzo holds a 60-31 record at Irondequoit, matching his overall scholastic mark, and is an alumnus of the program. His experience and long-term connection to the school provide stability for a roster with a strong returning core.
