Bishop Kearney Over Batavia-Notre Dame

Bishop Kearney secured a strong victory over Batavia-Notre Dame in a non-league matchup at VanDetta Stadium. Kearney set the tone early with nine goals in the first quarter and carried their momentum through the rest of the game, finishing with a final score of 14-2. Junior James Scantleburry led the offensive charge with three goals and six assists, while Dom Slevin also contributed three goals. Trever Jensen and Jeremy Lowe added two goals each, and Dub Eunice recorded his first Varsity goal. Freshman goalie Ethan Cole made 14 saves on 16 shots, achieving an 88% save percentage across 48 minutes.

Batavia-Notre Dame found the net twice in the third quarter with contributions from Harold Mellander and Trey Rodriguez. Mellander also recorded an assist, while Gavynn Trippany provided another helper. Despite the offensive push, Batavia-Notre Dame faced a tough challenge against Bishop Kearney’s well-balanced scoring and possession game. In goal, Branden Flanagan tallied 10 saves on 14 shots in the full 48-minute contest.

Eight different players scored for Bishop Kearney in the win. The team will travel to Haverling for their next game on Monday, May 12th, while Batavia-Notre Dame will host Gates Chili on Friday, May Friday.   [ Story and BOX SCORE
