As the Mynderse Academy Blue Devils gear up for the 2025 lacrosse season, expectations are running high. With Head Coach Joe Caraher, a Mynderse graduate, at the helm for his fourth season (and his second stint as head coach, having led the team from 1999-2012), the team is poised to build on the solid foundation laid in previous years. The 2024 season saw the Blue Devils finish with a commendable 11-7 record, and they look to surpass that mark this year.Mynderse

Reflecting on 2024

The 2024 season was marked by thrilling highs and challenging lows. The team outscored their opponents by five or more goals in eight of their victories and endured only four losses by the same margin. Close games, decided by five goals or fewer, added to the excitement, with six such matches ending in either victory or defeat.

The team's offensive prowess was evident, netting a total of 201 goals with an average of 11.2 goals per game. Their defensive efforts were equally impressive, conceding just 130 goals with an average of 7.2 goals against.

Key Departures

The Blue Devils bid farewell to 13 talented seniors who were graduated in 2024, including several who earned prestigious awards. Standout performers like Chase Fitzgerald, Phillip Love, Matthew Mahoney, Carson Montoney, Logan Pettingil, Isaac Pundt, Lucas Stevers, Dylan Tandle, and Karter Ticconi have left their mark on the program. Their contributions were significant, and they will be missed on the field.

Returning Stars

Despite the loss of these seniors, Mynderse boasts a core of returning players who are ready to step up. Jack Brady, an All-League 1st Team Attack, will be a key offensive weapon after an impressive 35-goal, 19-assist season. Eion Flemming, who earned All-League 3rd Team Defense honors, will anchor the defense. And then there's Griffin Hilimire, the Finger Lakes (FL-West) Player of the Year, who notched an astounding 74 goals and 33 assists last season. His leadership and scoring ability will be instrumental in guiding the team to success.Mynderse

Rising Talent

In addition to the returning stars, Mynderse has a group of talented rising seniors, juniors, and sophomores ready to make their mark. With seven rising seniors, seven juniors, and two sophomores, the team's depth and versatility will be crucial as they navigate the Class D landscape.

The 2025 season promises to be an exciting journey for the Mynderse Blue Devils. With a mix of seasoned veterans and emerging talent, the team is well-positioned to compete at a high level. Coach Caraher, with a 26-25 career record at Mynderse in this stint, is committed to instilling a winning mentality and fostering a sense of camaraderie among his players.
