Current State - March 14th

Monroe County Executive Adam Bell announced (in part) on Saturday afternoon:

“After consultation with Public Health Commissioner Dr. Mike Mendoza and the Superintendents of all 22 Monroe County School Districts, all Monroe County public schools will be closed to students beginning Monday, March 16 until further notice." 

"This closing includes all school-related activities, including sports and other extracurricular activities."

He stated that there would be an update by March 20th.


Stuben County has announced that schools (including Haverling) will be closed from March 18th to April 13th.

Penn Yan (Yates County) will be closed from March 18th to April 13th as well.


There has been some misinformation on social media about the status of High School lacrosse in our area.

When we are notified of changes by the Section V administration or school officials, we will post it here.

At this point, there have been some cancelations and postponements of scrimmages and early season games by specific teams.

The NYSPHSAA has posted some information which can be seen on the Section V website.
