Irondequoit freshman, John Lombardi recently announced his verbal commitment to study and play lacrosse at the University of Michigan after his expected graduation in 2018.

A starting midfielder for the Eagles last year, Lombardi was second in points, scoring 26g-17a while adding points in fourteen out of eighteen games.

Last summer, while playing for the SweetLax Lacrosse Club, he participated in the Adrenaline Platinum Cup, the Big4, Young Guns and the SweetLax Tournaments. He also was selected to play in the Brine National Lacrosse Classic Upstate Middle School team.

Before choosing Michigan, Lombardi considered Syracuse, Penn State, Ohio State, Johns Hopkins, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina.
