Tuesday: Wayne, Spencerport and Eastridge Win by One Goal
There were lots of games on a beautiful Tuesday and a couple of close ones. Eastridge beat Brockport in overtime, Wayne beat Newark 6-5 and Spencerport scored the last three goals and beat the Greece Thunder in the last minute of the game (15-14). Hilton won a 5-3 victory from Gates Chili. Other winner today were Midlakes, Penfield, Canandaigua, Fairport, Waterloo, Aquinas, McQuaid Jesuit, Penn Yan, Gananda, Mynderse and Pittsford. Two players reached their one hundredth career goals today, Aaron Peterman from Mynderse and Tim Wright from Waterloo.

-- Spencerport scored the final three goals of the contest to defeat Greece Athena/Odyssey 15-14. The Rangers initially led by six goals with 8:12 remaining in the third quarter. However, the Thunder scored eight unanswered goals to take a two goal lead with 7:00 remaining in the game. The Thunder held them scoreless for 13:39 spanning the third and fourth quarters.
Greece scored the opening goal with Jamie Trimboli scoring unassisted 1:45 into the contest. Trimboli finished with a team leading 5g-2a for the Thunder. Spencerport scored the next three goals in 90 seconds with Kasey Olsen scoring two and Matt Kaser scoring the third. Kaser also assisted on of Olsen's goals. Olsen finished the game with 4g-1a and Kaser finished with 6g-3a. The teams traded goals with Ryan Fritz scoring for Greece and Kaser scoring for Spencerport. Greece took back the lead by scoring the next three goals, two during extra-man offense. Trimboli scored the first two unassisted and Anthony Merola scored the go ahead goal (assisted by Trimboli). Not to be outdone, the Rangers scored the next three to take a two goal lead (7-5) into the second quarter.
Spencerport kept up the scoring in the second quarter, increasing their lead to four (9-5) with goals from Ryan Schirano (assisted by Thomas Allen) and Olsen (assisted by Brandon Ellis). Schirano scored his goal during transition man-down after the Thunder man lost control of the ball. Greece's Pat Crowe scored his lone goal of the game when he received a sharp crease pass from Ryan Fritz with 3:15 remaining in the second quarter. Spencerport's Ellis scored the next two to give the Rangers a five goal lead at halftime.
Spencerport only scored a single goal in the third quarter and it was a man-up goal with 8:12 remaining. Ellis assisted Colin McElligott with a cross-crease pass. Greece then scored the next eight goals. Four different athletes from the Thunder scored the goals. Fritz scored three, Trimboli and Merola scored two each and Nick Messmer scored one. With 6:33 remaining Kaser scored unassisted to bring the game to within a single goal. Two minutes later and Kaser scored again to tie the game with 4:28 remaining. The game winning goal was assisted by Kaser and scored by Corey Sauers with 0:29 left on the clock.
In the cage for Spencerport, Connor MacKenzie finished with five recorded saves. Face-off midfielder Aidan Conolly finished with a team leading 14 ground balls. He also finished 78% at the face-off draw (21/27); of his six losses, five came on technical calls. Caleb Ramos finished with six ground balls for the Rangers. For Greece, Hunter Merola finished at 50% with 15 recorded saves. Fritz led in the ground ball count for the Thunder with four.

-- Wayne scored five of the last six goals to defeat Newark 6-5. The Eagles trailed 4-1 at halftime and fought back for the win. Newark started off the scoring with an unassisted goal from Bill Cody with 6:45 remaining in the first quarter. Cody's goal was the only goal scored in the first 21:49 of the contest.
It wasn't until 2:11 remaining in the second quarter that the second goal of the game was scored. Andrew Jenkins scored with an assist from Tim Oddi during a man-up play to tie the game. Cody won the ensuing face-off and passed the ball up to Evan Vasquez to give Newark back their lead only 0:07 later. One minute later Vasquez scored his second goal on an unassisted drive at the cage. Once again it only took 0:07 to score from the face-off. This time, Cody took the ball himself and went straight to the net. Newark led 4-1 at the half.
Wayne came out of halftime a different team. They scored their first goal three minutes into the half when Connor Davidson assisted Josh Bowman. Six minutes later Salvatore Desiato brought the game within a single goal with an unassisted drive at the cage. Wayne tied the game for the first time since the second quarter with their second man-up goal. Jenkins assisted Chris Ecker early in the fourth quarter. Forty-five seconds later Newark took back their lead. Dylan Yatteau scored with an assist from Deven Lewis. The Eagles kept up the pressure and tied the game for the third time in the contest with an unassisted drive from Cody Matteson. The game winning goal was scored with 3:25 remaining. Jenkins produced an unassisted goal for the win.
In the cage for Wayne, Justin Townsend finished with four saves. Defenseman Bryce Saba led his team in ground balls with five. Matteson finished with four and Oddi, Desiato, Ecker and Jake Moss finished with three each. For Newark, Cody Cornelius finished with 10 saves.

-- The game was close for three quarters before Hilton scored two goals in the fourth quarter to secure their 5-3 victor over Gates-Chili. The Cadets scored the opening goal with Harald Juergens scoring unassisted. Juergens finished winning 71% at the face off draw for the Cadets (5-7). With 4:06 remaining in the first quarter the Spartans tied the game for the first time. Matt Martin scored during a man-up play with an assist from Phil Ruf. Hilton scored two more goals before the conclusion of the first quarter with Dante Giordano scoring his first goal and Shawn Kimble scoring his lone goal. Kimble's goal was assisted by Derek Richards. Giordano finished with three goals for the Cadets.
The second quarter belonged to the Spartans. They scored two goals and held the Cadets scoreless for 29:59 spanning all four quarters. Ruf scored the first goal with an assist from Jon Taliento. Joe Corona tied the game for the second time with 2:09 in the first half. Giordano scored the last two goals of the game, both in the fourth quarter. He scored unassisted at 6:32 and again at 3:37.
In the cage for Hilton, Jarod Kimble finished with six saves. Attackman Teddy Alvarado finished with a team leading six ground balls for the Cadets. Defenseman Brian Mangene added another five. For the Spartans, Dylan Dix finished with 13 saves between the pipes. Casey Pritchard and Dix each finished with four ground balls for Gates Chili.
