Alumni News Update
Tom Linnan from Penn Yan sent us an e-mail the other day to let us know that although former Hobart coach Matt Kerwick is leaving the University of Jacksonville in order to become an assistant coach at Georgetown, all is well with the Dolphins.
A link to the North Florida lacrosse web site tells the story of a number of players, some from Section Five, who have been busy this summer spreading the word of lacrosse throughout northern Florida. Mentioned in the article are Max Gurowski (Thomas), John Linnan (Penn Yan) and Jake Ziegler (Thomas).
It seems the boys spent the first part of their summer working with the newly formed Jacksonville lacrosse club running camps for youngsters in Florida.
Kerwick, who was the Dolphins first coach and guided them through two seasons will return to work with his former coach and former Hobart coach Dave Urick at Georgetown. There he will become the Associate Head Coach. Meanwhile at Jacksonville, Brian Duncan has been named the interim head coach.
In addition to the players listed in the article a number of other Section Five alumni are currently members of the Jacksonville Dolphins. They include Fairport goalie Kris Sterzin and midfielder Mike Wallenhorst (Irondequoit).
