Canandaigua over Schroeder 5-3

In a game played at McAvoy Park tonight, it was Canandaigua over Schroeder 5-3. The Braves took a 2-1 lead after scoring in the last four minutes of the first and then added 2 more in the second quarter to take a 4-1 half-time lead. With defense the name of the game, there was no scoring in the third quarter. Schroeder score in the a man-up goal early in the last quarter, but CA returned on the next face off and the Warriors ended the game with a goal at 0:11.
  
Canandaigua Coach Ed Mulheron had high praise for his defensive players. "I thought both teams played very well defensively." He noted the particular efforts of Evan Roth (5 takeaways), Ben Knapton, Evan Burley, Sean Regan and Matt Smith, playing defensive midfield and defense positions.
  
"We out shot Webster 34 - 14 but couldn't get it on net and when we did Tota made some nice saves," commented Coach Mulheron. Schroeder's goalie, Scott Tota had 8 saves for the Warriors.
  
Scoring for Canandaigua were Connor Henderson (2g-2a), Brian Scheetz (1g), Justin Tomzak (1g), Andrew Knoblauch (1g-1a) and Gannon Osborn (1g). Marshall Johnson (5 gbs) won 6 of 9 face offs for the Braves. Goalie Scott Bement had 9s and 3ga.
  
Scoring for Schroeder were Bill Harris (1g), Joe Matison (2a), Nick Mooney (1g) and Pete Noto (1g).
