Brockport Comes Back in Fourth
Brockport outscored Eastridge 4-1 in the fourth quarter to comeback and win 9-8 over the Lancers. The Blue Devils led in the first half before Eastridge fought back to a two goals lead in the third quarter. The Lancers held Brockport scoreless for sixteen minutes and added four of their own in that time. Brockport scored four of the final five goals to secure their win.
Brockport scored the first goal with Owen Manchester scoring unassisted. Manchester finished with a team leading 4g (all of which were unassisted). The Blue Devils kept up their pressure and led 5-3 with 2:11 remaining in the half. That was their last goal until the fourth quarter. Eastridge kept up the pressure and added two more goals before halftime and then an additional two in the third quarter. Trevor Schmidt scored two with Joe DiSalvo and Dakoda Iamele scored the remaining two.
Coming into the fourth quarter, Brockport added two goals to tie the game with 8:09 remaining in regulation. The final Lancer goal of the game was scored by Clay Johnson with 3:15 remaining in the game. Johnson’s goal gave the Lancers a one goal lead with time counting down. Dylan Vergari scored the game tying goal with 1:59 remaining. The winning goal was scored off a feed from Ashton Howlett to Matt Heyden with 1:08 remaining.
Over the past twelve years, Eastridge and Brockport were 7-7 coming into tonight’s game. The Lancers had won the last two match-ups last season. Brockport’s win put them back on top 8-7 going into their second meeting this season on April 19th. After the game has been played, it can be found HERE.
