Tuesday: Brighton Over CA in OT

DAY IN REVIEW: Junior midfielder Shea McDonald scored the winning goals with 10.1 seconds left in overtime to give Brighton (4-3) the win over visiting Canandaigua (6-3) with a scored of 14-13. Casey McDermott was the scoring leader for the Barons with 4g-2a. Brett Randall added 4g.

Midlakes at WayneFairport used eleven players on the scorebook to defeat visiting Irondequoit. TJ Henricks (2g-2a) and Spencer Bell (3g-1a) led the list. Sophomore midfielder Matt Cronk led the ground ball effort with twelve and also won 16 of 25 face offs for the Red Raiders. Jack Brennan and Quinn Simonson each scored 2g-1a for the Eagles. The scoring went back and forth and in the end, Waterloo defeated Bloomfield-Honeoye 6-4. The teams were tied at the half (3-3) and in the third (at 4-4) before the Indians had goals by Tyler Cotton and Adam Jensen (who led his team in scoring with 2g-1a). George Williams was credited with 15 saves (79%) and Nick Costantino led the ground ball effort with nine.

Mynderse (2-6) beat Marcus Whitman (2-6) with strong efforts from Ethan Spinner (3g-1a), Draven VanEvery (4g) and Brad Sandroni (3g). Marcus Whitman saw 3g-2a from Seth Benedict. Hilton kept up with Pittsford in the first quarter but then it was all Panthers behind the efforts of Colby Barker (2g-2a) and Jeremy Jacob and Brennan Mooney with 3g each. Gavin Catalano recorded 13 saves (72%) in the cage. Hilton face off specialist Shawn Doran won 14 of 20 draws and led the team in ground balls with ten.

Webster Thomas scored first and never looked back in their win over Penfield tonight. Six players made the scorebook for the Titans. Leading the list was Trevor Ford (4g-2a), Matt Hill (2g-2a) and Brad Smith (3g-1a). Matt Yonko was credited with 12 saves (57%). Thomas led 12-4 before Penfield ended the game with five goals including two from Peter Schwab who led the Patriot scoring with 4g-1a.

There were six ties in the Aquinas vs McQuaid Jesuit game tonight. Casey Hockheimer led the scored for AQ with 4g and Sebastian Gimeli won 20 of 26 draws. Evan Kelly scored the winning goal in overtime. Jack Billiter(3g-2a) and Tommy Crocker (2g-3a) led the McQuaid scorebook.

It was a close game for Thunder vs Gates Chili, with Greece leading 6-5 at the half, but they turned on the heat in the last quarter for the 10-7 win at home. Dalton McCumber (4g) and Paul Forte (2g-2a) led the list of seven players helping out. Joe Wegman won 14 of 21 face offs for the Thunder, now 4-3.

Other winners today were Eastridge, HF-L, Churchville-Chili, Geneva, Gananda, Wayne, Penn Yan, and Spencerport.
