In the second week of honoring players, group two will catch us up with the start of the season. This time there are two offensive and two defensive players.

Offensive Player of the Week
Brian Burger

A four year Varsity player with Pal-Mac, this senior attackman has a current career record of 204g-113a. Those numbers include 37g-21a in eight games this season. He certainly was instrumental, after scoring 3g-1a in a one goal win against Penn Yan, in giving the Red Raiders their first win against the Mustangs.

Head Coach Joe Hill says, "Since I first saw Brian in 7th grade, he has been a steady, hard-nosed kid who plays lacrosse for nothing more than his teammates and the love of the game. He is unselfish and a player who has no care for his own stats."

Offensive Player of the Week
Ryan Macdonell

Midlakes senior attackman, Ryan Macdonell has been an important reason that Midlakes are 6-1. He has been averaging over six points per game, and has 32g-12a at this point.

Midlakes Head Coach Ben Clement says, "Ryan always draws the other team`s best long pole and is still able to lead our offense. He is a strong attackman that is able to make the other players around him better."

Defensive Player of the Week
Tyler Bushnell

Thanks to Honeoye Falls-Lima senior defenseman, Tyler Bushnell, HF-L is having an exciting season and are currently 8-0. Their aggressive defensive unit has given the Cougars significant ball time and Tyler, with sixteen takes and 2g-4a thus far is a major factor.

Head Coach Jack Beaney says, "Tyler is a great player for us. He can play anywhere on the field. He has worked hard for the past eight years developing his game and is shining as a senior. I would not hesitate to play him anywhere on the field. Last year he was chosen by his teammates' to be one of our captains."

Defensive Player of the Week
Patrick Hynes

He certainly has been waiting for his turn as the starting goalie, but Patrick Hynes, is making his mark in this senior year at Irondequoit. His 62% game against Aquinas was important to their win as was his 65% game against Canandaigua.

Head Coach Terry Coholan says, "Patrick has been a pleasant surprise this year. We had two senior goalies last year so he didn't get a lot of work as a junior. He has worked hard, and continues to improve each week. The defense in front on him is all new this year, so we've needed him to take a leadership role. He is one of our three senior captains."
