Robards Leads 11-Player Scoring Effort For Penfield
CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-2 at PENFIELD-17 - Penfield (12-4) used 11 different goal scorers Monday night in a 17-2 non-league win over Churchville-Chili, building runs of seven and nine goals in the process. Senior Colin Miller controlled the faceoff circle, winning 11 of 14 draws (79%), and sophomore Will Taddeo was perfect on eight attempts.
For Penfield, senior Gabe Robards led with four goals, while senior Brodie Joyce added three goals and two assists. Miller chipped in two goals, and first career varsity goals went to sophomore Medin Sinanovic and senior defenseman Trent Smith, with Sinanovic also picking up his first career varsity assist and junior Jacob Buckpitt recording his first career varsity assist as well. Senior Mason Schembri made five saves for an 83% efficiency rate, and junior Nate Roche added three saves at 75% in relief.
For Churchville-Chili (5-11), senior defenseman Joey Allen and eighth grader David Donaghue each scored their team's two goals, with Allen's being the first varsity goal of his career. Sophomore Logan Vujanovic picked up the first varsity assist of his career.
