Landon's Five Goals Pace Wayne; Hamel Reaches 300 Saves

WAYNE-15 at WATERLOO-5  - Wayne beat Waterloo 15-5 Thursday evening in a non-league game, moving to 6-5. Junior Paxton Landon had a standout night offensively, and freshman goalie Gavin Hamel reached 300 career saves. Seven different Eagles scored. Waterloo falls to 2-9.

Landon led Wayne with five goals, while Tucker Eaton and Cody Crandell each added three goals and an assist. Nick Caine contributed one goal and three assists, and Emmett Haak, Shane Coleman and Wyatt Murray each scored one. In goal, Hamel made seven saves on 12 shots (58%) over 48 minutes.

For Waterloo, Jaidyn Ellison led with three goals, and Walter Bennett and Trevor Trumble each added one. Gavin Jacobsen contributed two assists and Kyle Shangraw one.

Wayne hosts Gananda on Monday evening. Waterloo hosts Newark on Saturday.
