Geneva Rolls Past Greece Storm

GENEVA-18 at GREECE STORM-7 - Geneva opened its season with an 18-7 non-league win over Greece Storm on Thursday evening, pulling away with a seven-goal first quarter that set the tone early. The Panthers kept their foot on the gas in the second, outscoring the Storm five to two before both teams settled into a closer contest over the final two quarters. Geneva improved to 1-0 while Greece Storm fell to 0-2.

Senior attackman Ryland Dunham led Geneva with five goals and three assists, while senior Ben Budgar matched him with four goals and four assists. Junior Jack Dunham added four goals and two assists, and junior Jacob D'Amico chipped in two goals and one assist. Senior Owen Devaney contributed one goal and two assists, and Max Delgado added two goals.

For Greece Storm, senior James Maccallini led the way with three goals on four shots on net, while senior face-off midfielder Eric Odell added two goals. Sophomore Michael Atseff III posted one goal and one assist, and junior Raymond Auringer added one goal. Odell was a force at the face-off X, winning 21 of 23 draws for a 91% rate. 

Greece Storm hosts Brighton on Saturday morning, while Geneva returns to action on a Tuesday evening in April when they host Auburn.
