Canandaigua Secures Victory Over C-C

Canandaigua opened its season strong with a 19-4 win against Churchville-Chili in the MC-D3 league game held on April 1st. The home team showcased its depth with ten different players scoring. Leading the effort for Canandaigua, sophomore attackman Ryan McKeegan and junior midfielder Jack Stanney contributed three goals each, with Stanney adding two assists. Sophomore attackman AJ Sterman also had three goals, marking his first Varsity achievement. Other standout players included Mike Belles with one goal and five assists, and Marshall Bolster with two goals and two assists. Facing off for Canandaigua was senior Mason DePew with thirteen wins and three losses (81%) and sophomore Peyton Fritz with eight wins and three losses (73%).

For Churchville-Chili, Jaxon Leonard spearheaded the offense, netting three goals, while junior Jack Sloan added one goal, which was his first on the Varsity stage. Goalie Kaiden Leiston made eighteen saves over forty-eight minutes. Despite their efforts, Churchville-Chili couldn't match Canandaigua's twelve-goal scoring streak during the game.

Canandaigua's next game is against Irondequoit on Saturday, April 5, at 11:00 a.m., while Churchville-Chili heads to Waterloo for their matchup on the same day.
