Sunday Games - ESG 2007
Long Island captured the Gold on Saturday, when they defated Central, but the Silver and Bronze medals were still up for grabs today. Although for much of the game, it looked like Adirondack might beat Central, and give the Silver to Western, Central fought back for an 8-7 win to capture the Silver and give Western the Bronze medal in the 2007 Games.
In the 8:00 am game, Western fought back a second half effort by New York City and won, 8-6. The team then had to wait for the second game to finish, before they knew if they would receive a the silver, bronze or no medal before starting back home. The full game report is available here.
Central and Adirondack played a very cclose game during which, both teams were in contrrol. In the end it was Central, taking an 8-7 win and securing the silver medal. The full report is available here.
In the only overtime game in the 2007 tournament, Hudson Valley's Scott Morell scored in sudden victory with a feed from behind the cage by Tyler Granelli to the Valley the only victory against the gold medal winning Long Island team. The full report is available here.
