# 4466 2026 Season Wrap Up It was another exciting season for Section V lacrosse with 916 players on the final rosters, 308 regular season games played and 79 league games determined the league championships. Honeoye Falls-Lima (C) was the only top seed to win their championship. In the other three classes, the second-seeded teams won championships; Penfield in Class A, Victor in Class B and Penn Yan in Class D. # 4465 2026 All-Section Five List Announced The Section V Lacrosse leadership has selected first, second and honorable mention lists of All-Section players. The 2026 first team lists sixteen players and includes the six All-Americans previously announced. "The first six athletes on the first team are easy" said Section Five Assistant Coordinator, Paul Wilson. "After that, it becomes more difficult as we have so many excellent players. With the six first spots taken, there were only ten more places on the first team." |
# 4459 USA Lacrosse National Awards The Head Coaches of Section V considered players who had been nominated for All-American and All-Academic awards. The awards identify some of the best players from each area around the country. Each of the head coaches in the Section is allowed to vote on each of the awards. The selections from our area were then submitted to the USA Lacrosse for final approval. |

# 3960 HFL Wins in Class C In a dominant performance, HFL secured their third consecutive Sectional Championship with a commanding 19-7 victory over the previously undefeated Pal-Mac Red Raiders, marking their fourth title in program history. The Cougars set the tone early, jumping to a 5-0 lead and maintaining control throughout, led by standout sophomore Grady Goodberlet (6g-2a), who was named Class C All Tournament MVP. Teammates Marco Vangoechea (6g-1a) and Quinn Kailbourne (2g-4a) also played pivotal roles, while Jackson Dennie (3g) and Reid Diehl (1g-2a) led the Red Raiders' efforts. HFL’s strong defensive showing, highlighted by face-off battles and eight saves from goalie Jason Bennett, sealed the victory. The Cougars now advance to the Sub-regional round against Section VI Champion Hamburg on Wednesday at Canandaigua Academy. |

# 3501 Pal-Mac survives Scare from Livonia-Avon *+Pal-Mac stepped up in the fourth quarter to defeat Livonia-Avon 4-3. In a game that was plagued with penalties, the teams both had multiple attempts at extra-man offense. The Red Raiders converted on two of their attempts while the Lakers could not convert on any of their attempts. The man-down defense for Pal-Mac was a key factor of their win. |
