Waterloo 10 - Mynderse 7
NOTES: Although Mynderse led to start the game, Waterloo scored four unanswered goals in the first and second quarters to take the lead on their way to a 10-7 win over the Blue Devils. Waterloo never trailed again after they took the lead at 3:59 in the second quarter.
Mynderse's Ted Stuck scored the opening goal with an assist from Aidan Trout. Trout finished the game with two points and was one of only three to finish with more than one point for the Blue Devils.
Overall, seven players made the final scorebook with Seb Reese finishing with 3g to lead his team. Cody Warshell scored unassisted to give Mynderse the 2-0 lead. Kyle Lotz, who finished with 2g, scored the opening points for the Indians. Waterloo was led in scoring by three players with three points each: Jaymin Mateo (2g-1a), Mark Campbell (1g-2a) and Patrick Sobus (3g).
Defensively, Waterloo had strong ground ball efforts from Nick Stenberg (10), Jaymin Mateo (9) and Pat Sobus (9). Coach Matt Morrin credits a solid defensive effort in the third quarter to help secure their win. In the cage, Mark Campbell finished with 8 saves (53%) for the Indians.
