Victor Sophomore Ryan Maloney Selects Cornell
Sophomore attackman Ryan Maloney announced today that he has made a verbal commitment to study and play lacrosse at Cornell University after his graduation from Victor High School in 2016.
At 6 feet-one, 165 pounds, Maloney started at midfield last year as a freshman. Scoring points in five games last year as a freshman, including two assists in the Section Five Championship game, Maloney produced 2g-7a in his first year on the Varsity team.
This summer and fall he played attack for the Sweetlax Lacrosse Club and attended the Jake Reed Blue Chip Camp for Rising Sophomores as well as the Maverick Showtime Camp where he made the All-Star Team.
Cornell has been to the Division I Final Four four out of the last seven years including last year`s 16-14 semi-final loss to eventual national champion Duke. In 2013 the Big Red were ranked from number 2 to number 8 in the nation throughout the season.
Maloney also considered Yale, Towson, Princeton, Michigan, Colgate and Albany.
