Waterloo Scores Final Three Goals in Win

After four lead changes, Waterloo scored the final three goals to defeat Newark 10-8.  The Reds held the lead with 2:16 left in the third quarter before being held scoreless by the Indian’s defense for the final 14 minutes.  Dillion McCann scored two of the last three goals for the Indians to secure the win.  He finished with 5g-1a on the game.

Waterloo took the first lead of the game with back to back goals by McCann.  The Reds responded with three goals to take their first lead.  Waterloo added one more before the first quarter expired.  The score was tied 3-3 going into the second quarter.  Waterloo added another goal to start the quarter (38 seconds into play) with an unassisted goal from Toby Loucks. 

Newark kept the game close with their fourth goal a few minutes later.  Waterloo upped their pressure with another three goals to take the largest lead of the game at three goals (7-4).  Newark responded with one goal before the half, and then three more to start the second quarter.  Matt Card scored the final goal for Newark to give them their second lead of the game.  Waterloo’s Anthony DeFrancesco scored the final goal of the third to tie the game at 8-8 going into the final twelve minutes.
