West Genesee over Irondequoit 8-6
Irondequoit traveled to Section Three tonight to take on West Genesee. In a close game the Wildcats, scoring two goals in the last two minutes of the game, came away with an 8-6 victory.
West Genesee 8 - Irondequoit 6
-- The Eagles traveled to Camilus for an early season game against West Genesee, last year's New York State Class A Champions. Irondequoit took a 2-1 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Wildcats came back for a 5-3 half-time lead. The game was tied at six each with about three minutes left in the game. With 2:20 left in the game, Senior midfielder, Tyler Brown broke the tie to give the Wildcats a one goal lead. The Cats scored again at the end of the game, giving them a 8-6 win at home. Junior midfielder John Glesener led the effort for West Genesee with two goals while six other each scored one goal.
Scoring for Irondequoit were sophomore midfielder Greg Coholan (2g-1a), senior attackman Drew Coholan (1g), junior middie Mike Utz (3g). Junior goalie, Tyler Nash recorded 23 saves for the Eagles (1-1).
