Monroe County Releases D-3 Awards for 2015 |

The All Star list is out recognizing the Monroe County League players for the 2015 season. Senior midfielder Kevin Hill (Thomas), attackman, Connor Hulme (Canandaigua) and Long Stick Defenseman Allen Thibodeau (Fairport) were named US Lacrosse Academic All Americans. Senior midfielder Brandon Barker (Pittsford) along with senior attackman Max Spaan (Penfield) and senior goalie Willie Klan (Penfield) selected as US Lacrosse All Americans. Juniors Jared Conners(Pittsford-LSM), T.D. Ierlan (Victor mid/fo) and Jamie Trimboli (Victor - mid) were also named as US Lacrosse All Americans. Full Story |

In the last game of the 2015 scholastic season, the Blue Devils finished their undefeated (22-0) season and won their first New York State Championship when they defeated Manhasset of Section 8 with the score of 17-8. Full Story |

Dan Smith, will be attending John Carroll University in the Fall and will play lacrosse for Coach Brian Small. A three year player on the Fairport Red Raider defense, Dan plans to study mathematics and has been admitted to the Pre-MBA Scholars Program. Full Story |
Caz Takes Out Mustangs in Semis |

*+Cazenovia scored four of the first five goals to take a strong lead into their State Semi-Final match against Penn Yan. The Lakers defeated the Mustangs 9-5 and will move on to play Cold Spring Harbor this Saturday at Vestal High School. Cazenovia played a more consistent game. They showed their skill with second and third attempts at the ball. On a number of plays they lost the initial ground ball and then came at the ball even stronger to re-take possession on the second or third attempt. This held true with most statistics including face-offs, shots, and clears. Although multiple Lakers had strong games, there were stand out performances from face off midfielder Peter Burr, attackman PJ Brown and goalie Brenden Whalen. Five Late Goals give WG Win Over Pittsford |

West Genesee scored five unanswered goals spanning the second through fourth quarters to defeat Pittsford 8-7. The Wildcats will face Niskayuna in the State Finals at Vestal on Saturday. The game came down to consistent offense versus high powered unsettled play. The Panthers were much more flexible and willing to find openings in whatever they were presented. The Wildcats played strong consistent offensive for four quarters and slowly chipped away at an early Pittsford lead. Full Story |
NYS Semi Finals: Victory for Victor - Still Undefeated |

Victor became the lone Section V representative to make it to the State Finals with an 11-9 win over Jamesville-Dewitt. They will go on to play Manhasset on Saturday at Vestal High School in the State Finals. The Blue Devils had a slow start before taking control in the second quarter and holding the lead through the second half. They looked strong though the entire contest and controlled the pacing of the game. Attackman Ryan Maloney finished with 3g-2a to lead Victor. Face off specialist TD Ierlan had another impressive contest finishing 19/22 (86%). He also led his team in ground balls with thirteen. Full Story |

There are twelve teams that are still playing games but on Wednesday that number will drop to six when the New York State Tournaments continue with the semifinal rounds. At this point, the State is divided into the West and the East for the Wednesday games. In the West are the teams from Section V vs the teams from Section III. 8th Annual JMJ Tournament set for June 7th |

The 8th Annual Jeff Milano-Johnson Memorial Lacrosse Tournament is set for Sunday, June 7th at Total Sports Experience. The Jeff Milano-Johnson Memorial Fund / Rochester Kids provides scholarships to kids graduating from the City of Rochester, support for city lacrosse and funding for bereavement support for parents whose children who have died. Penn Yan took the game into running time in the third quarter on their way to a 20-8 win over previously undefeated Akron (Section VI). The Mustangs scored the first four goals of the game and led throughout the contest. A short lightning delay in the opening quarter stopped play with Penn Yan leading 1-0. Victor took the game into running time to start the third quarter on their way to a 20-8 win over Hamburg. The Bulldogs came back in the fourth quarter after the Blue Devils pulled their starters. Victor played four different goalies during the game. Starting goalie Chayse Ierlan played the opening half and had 2 recorded saves and 3 goals against. Pittsford took the early 5-2 lead after the first quarter on their way to a 16-12 win over Orchard Park (Section 6). The Panther`s Jonathan Perotto finished with 6g-3a to lead his team. Penn Yan Wins 20th Sectional Championship |

Penn Yan came out strong with a 9-0 start before defeating Aquinas 12-2. The Mustangs win gave them their 20th Section Five title. Midfielder Austin Fingar finished the game with 3g-2a and was named Class C All Tournament MVP. The attack from Penn Yan finished with 7g-2a between them and were all named to the All-Tournament Team, Sean Emerson, Craig Gerhardt and Tate Stewart. Full Story |
Victor Repeats at Section Five Champ |

Victor scored seven unanswered goals on their way to a 20-8 win over Webster Thomas. The game was close for the first quarter before a weather delay between the first and second quarters. Coming out of the delay, Victor scored five unanswered goals to increase their lead to 9-2. The Blue Devils had 10 players make their offensive scorebook with Drew Collins leading with 4g-2a. Pittsford Wins Championship |

After their last minute loss last season in the Sectional Finals, The Panthers came back this season looking for the big win. After a back and forth first quarter where Penfield held the lead twice, the Panthers scored four unanswered goals to go up 5-2 and they never looked back. Pittsford defeated Penfield 11-6 to secure their fourth Sectional title and first since 2011. Full Story |
