The US Lacrosse Greater Rochester Chapter would like to invite everyone to it's annual Hall of Fame Induction Dinner. The Chapter will be honoring Harvey Stoller, John Pratt and Bill Meagher at this year's ceremony. Full Story

The Monroe County Medical Examiner, in a report filed this summer, stated that Pittsford freshman lacrosse player, Jeff Milano-Johnson's death last spring was the result of a cerebral artery aneurysm and that there was no indication that he was hit in the head with a lacrosse ball. Full Story

The Tournament is complete. Long Island won their fourteenth Gold medal (third in a row) losing only to Hudson Valley (in overtime) on the last day. Central took the Silver medal and Western took the bronze. Full Story

The Western-NYC game score of 8-6 doesn't adequately reflect how the game was played. Western scored the only two goals of the first and the only two goals of the second for a 4-0 lead going entering halftime. Although, NYC made a hard-fought comeback they never took the lead. Full Story

The second game of the day was a closely contested match up between Adirondack and Central, the result of which determined the silver and bronze medals.  The game started off with Adirondack in control and ended with Central making a major comeback in the second half. Full Story

On hearing the story of the post game celebration with parents and fans swarming the field, surrounding the athletes as they jumped up and down, hugging and jumping into a large pile in celebration of their overtime victory, one would think that the description was of Long Island after finishing their final game of the 2007 Empire State Games winning the gold medal for the 14th time, but you would be in error. Long Island captured the Gold on Saturday, when they defated Central, but the Silver and Bronze medals were still up for grabs today. Although for much of the game, it looked like Adirondack might beat Central, and give the Silver to Western, Central fought back for an 8-7 win to capture the Silver and give Western the Bronze medal in the 2007 Games. Western began this game a dominant force, winning the first two face-offs and controlling the ball in the offensive area of the field. Full Story

Central took the opening face-off with a technical win, but it didn’t help as neither team scored a goal on their first offensive possession. Full Story

Although New York City opened up the scoring with the only two goals of the first quarter, Adirondack came back and outscored NYC 7-3 in the last three. Scott Margolis scored the first goal of the contest (assisted by Anthony Adler). With Only 0:23 left in the first quarter Adler scored one of his own. Full Story

Hudson Valley took a 3-1 lead into the second quarter but were outscored 9-2 in the last three quarters on their way to a 10-5 loss to Adirondack. Full Story

Long Island opened up the scoring early and often, with their first goal just 0:34 into the game when Matthew Gibson scored by backing in from the top and then quickly turning for the shot. Full Story

New York City’s Max Van Bourgondien scored the opening goal with 9:10 remaining. Forest Sonnenfeldt and Julian Musikant each scored one goal in the opening quarter. Full Story

Western started the scoring with a goal from Joe Resetarits (assisted by Kyle VanThof) at 7:07 but the first three shots that Central took each resulted in a goal. Full Story

John Conneely opened the scoring on the final game of Friday’s six game series just 0:53 into the game. ADK was quick to retaliate when Matthew Crimmins (assisted by John Olsen) found the back of the net 0:33 later. Full Story

It was "doubleheader Day" on Friday, a day that challenges the athlete's skills, stamina and tempers as each team plays two game on the second day of the Tournament. The weather was humid and hot and there was a constant fear of rain and thunderstorms in the weather predictions which, for lacrosse never materialized. Full Story

The 2007 Empire State Games opened with a match between Central and Hudson Valley. Full Story

Long Island opened their first game of the 2007 Empire State Games with five straight goals spanning two quarters before the New York City team was able to score. Full Story

The first round of play saw Western defeated Adirondack 11-6. Western opening up the scoring four minutes into the first quarter as attackman Joe Resetarits scored with a feed from fellow attackman Matt Pierotti. Full Story

Central opened the second day of games in a similar fashion as they did on Thursday against Hudson Valley. Central defeated New York City 13-7 after a seven-goal streak in the last five minutes of the third quarter. Full Story

It's the 30th anniversary of the Empire State Games, and this year they will be played in Westchester from July 25th-29th. Six thousand athletes from the six regions will compete in the olympic style games. Full Story
