After playing a close first half that found the two last Class A teams left in the New York State Tournament, tied at 5-5, West Islip turned on the heat with eight unanswered goals in the second half to win their second State championship in a row. Full Story

All three Section Five teams defeated the champions form Section Six today at Canisius College in Buffalo. Irondequoit was first up with a 3:30 game in Class B and they won 8-4 over Hamburg who finish their season at 17-3. Full Story

The league awards have finally been released and 316 awards have been given to the players in Section Five so far this year. (The AGR list will come out within a month). 65 Finger Lakes players received 69 awards, 23 GRALL players received 31 awards and Penn Yan, who is independent had 4 players receiving All Tournament awards. In the Monroe County League 69 players in Division I received 82 awards, 71 players in Division II received 84 awards and 46 players in Division III each received an award. Full Story

The Whipple brothers will be busy on Friday night as Craig Whipple's Irondequoit team won their semi final over top seeded Canandaigua and Andrew's Pittsford Panthers won their semi final game over Penfield. Full Story

The Class A seeds fell as predicted, with Fairport, R-H, Penfield and Pittsford all winning and the Class C did the same with Aquinas, Bloomfield-Honeoye, Penn Yan and Geneva all winning as well. The brackets feel as seed in Class B except for the Eagles from Irondequoit (#5), who defeated McQuaid Jesuit (#4), 14-9. Canandaigua beat Spencerport 23-2, Brighton beat Victor 14-11 and Thomas defeated HFL, 16-4. Full Story
