Tuesday: Pittsford over Irondequoit, Fairport over Thomas

Thirteen games were played in Section Five today. Fairport was a 15-6 winner over visiting Thomas and Pittsford defeated visiting Irondequoit 11-5. In other action Livonia won their game with Haverling in overtime, McQuaid Jesuit beat Aquinas 13-8 and Churchville-Chili beat Hilton in a close one (9-7). Full Story

Monday: B-H Pride Takes Midlakes in Overtime

Zach Hammond scored an unassisted goal with 2:40 left in the first overtime period to give Bloomfield-Honeoye the win at Midlakes. Full Story

Monroe County D1 and D2 has still not played league games yet, and most of last week's information comes form out-on league play, so there are, once again, very few changes in the rankings. There still is no doubt that Fairport, Canandaigua and Penn Yan below the odds-on favorites in each class, but there are so many games yet to be played. Full Story

Saturday: Brighton over Churchville, Penn Yan over Carthage

It took overtime for the Barons, but Brighton's Nick Wolak scored with 3:23 remaining in overtime to win the battle over visiting Churchville-Chili. Penn Yan played a close one with Section Three's Carthage and won 10-9. Full Story

Friday: Greece Thunder Winners Today

The Greece Thunder (Ath//Ody) improved their record to 4-1 with a 21-0 victory of Bishop Kearney while Pal-Mac beat Newark 15-2 in the two games in Section Five today. Full Story

Thursday: Schroeder over C-C, Fairport over Irondequoit

There were fourteen games in the section today and more were played under dark or rainy conditions. Webster Schroeder won an 8-6 victory over Churchville-Chili while Fairport stunned Irondequoit (13-4) and Canandaigua beat Penfield (19-6). Full Story

The newly renamed "Pride" from Bloomfield-Honeoye was an 8-7 winner over traveling Geneva and Churchville-Chili defeated Penfield (13-12), also in overtime. Full Story

No joke, there was some exciting play in Section Five today, with Midlakes beating Livonia, East Rochester with their first ever win, Thunder taking out Eastridge and Thomas over Penfield in overtime. There were also some mismatch wins by Brighton, Fairport and Canandaigua. Full Story

Thursday: Churchville over Schroeder in a Close One

Of the "West-Side" team, the Saints of Churchville-Chili have been a team on the move, and made an early season statement with a 10-9 win over Webster Schroeder tonight at McAvoy park in Irondequoit. Full Story

Tuesday: Irondequoit Over Penfield in a Close One

With nine lead changes during the game, Irondequoit ended up the 12-11 winner over host Penfield. Nick Doktor (5g-2a) scored three of his goals in the third quarter to give the Eagles a two goal lead going into the last quarter. Full Story

Monday: Canandaigua and Fairport the Winners

Pittsford and Fairport hosted Monroe County cross-over games today. Fairport was a 16-4 winner over Honeoye Falls-Lima and Canandaigua was a 7-5 winner over Pittsford. Full Story

Saturday: Most Games Out of Section

On day number two of the 2010 season, there were six games played, and four of them were with out-of-section teams. Pal-Mac used the second half to beat East Rochester 7-3 and McQuaid Jesuit also came back with a strong second half effort as they defeated host Corning West 14-10. Full Story

Friday: Bishop Kearney Returns to Section Five

After and eleven year absence, the Bishop Kearney Kings fielded a Varsity team, who opened up the 2010 lacrosse season in 2010 with a 14-3 loss to visiting St. Francis High School (of Buffalo - Section VI). It was the first game for both teams, but the Red Raiders have a game tomorrow when the travel to Aquinas for a noon start. Full Story
