And then there were none, as the last undefeated team lost. In a greatly anticipated game this afternoon, the Blue Devils took a four goal lead and never lost it, even though the Tttans scored three goals in the last eight minutes to bring the game within one. Victor saw offense from eight different players with Camden Hay leading with 3g and Sam Lambert added 3a. Schroeder Uses OT For Win Over Irondequoit |

Thursday: DAY IN REVIEW: In the closet game of the night, Schroeder defeated Irondequoit 11-10. This is the third overtime game of the season for the Eagles (and the first that they have lost). Thursday: DAY IN REVIEW: Penfield scored the first goal on Senior Night and never trailed in their 8-4 win over Orchard Park. Penfield was led in scoring by Jack Joyce with 2g-3a. Joyce assisted the first three goals for the Patriots. The first two were almost identical with outside passes to high shots. The first was scored by Michael Mitchell and the second by Jason Berardicurti. Orchard Park scored the first goal with Cayden Collins feeding Ben Ingalls on a high left flat. Weise Scores in Overtime to Lift Gananda |

Gananda’s John Weise scored the game winning goal during the first overtime period. The Blue Panthers defeated Wayne 9-8 after scoring four of the last five goals. Gananda opened up the game with the first two goals. Evan Smith scored off a feed from Jake Rapp followed by Rapp scoring off a feed from Weise. Wayne responded with five unanswered goals to go up 5-2 with 2:23 remaining in the half. Brett Cunningham scored the final goal of the half to put the Blue Panthers within two goals. Full Story |
FM Defeats Pittsford |

Fayetteville-Manlius scored the first three goals of the game and although Pittsford tied the game three times, the Hornets never let go of the lead in their 8-6 win. FM’s opener was scored with an outside shot by Nick Papa. Papa finished with 3g-2a to lead his team. Two minutes later, Chris Lubrino scored on a fast-break goal. Full Story |
HFL Comes Back in Fourth Quarter for Win |

HFL and Hilton played a close game tonight with the Cougars winning 8-6. HFL opened up with the first goal less than one minute into play. Jonathan Roth scored with a single player drive down the left side to give the Cougars and early 1-0 lead. Two minutes later and Hilton responded. Justin Mosher drove at the cage and instead of taking a shot, he passed off to Jordan DePetres behind the cage. Saturday: DAY IN REVIEW: On a bright Saturday, there were fourteen games played. Seven were with out of Section teams and the local teams won six. Fairport was a 14-12 winner over Jamesville-DeWitt (Section 3). The Red Raiders led 10-6 at the half. Sophomore midfielder Klay Stuver led the offense with seven goals and sophomore goalie Tim Defendis recorded eighteen saves (60%). Fairport advances to 7-4 while JD drops top 10-2. Full Story |

There were rainy days but also a couple of days with sunshine last week . One hundred and eighty-one games have been played thus far. Webster Thomas (10-0) beat Penfield and Hilton to remain the only undefeated team at this point. Gananda (7-1) lost to the Greece Storm last week. Fourty-five (of seventy-three out of Section games scheduled) have been played. Section five teams have won thirty-one (69%). Hilton over Irondequoit After Three Late Goals |

Monday: DAY IN REVIEW: In a close game with four ties, Hilton (6-7) scored three goals in the last quarter to beat Irondequoit (8-4) 9-7. Eight players for the Cadets made the offensive book as as six players scored one goal each. Jordan DePetres had 2g and Ben Mitrano had 1g-1a to lead the Cadets. Junior face off middie, Shawn Doran won 13 draws (72%) and led the team in ground balls with twelve while Jacob Kelsey made a dozen saves (63%). Phil Barilla and Kessel Stefano each has 2g for Irondequoit. It was only the second win for Hilton against the Eagles since 2003. Full Story |

Connor Ball scored an unassisted goal 1:13 into the first overtime period to give Webster Schroeder their second straight overtime line. McDermott Leads Brighton to Victory |

Brighton scored six unanswered goals in the third quarter to pull away from Spencerport. The Barons won 18-11 after the Rangers scored the final two goals. Brighton was led in scoring by Brady McDermott with 6g-3a. The first goal of the game was scored only 0:25 into play with B. Tuesday: DAY IN REVIEW: With a 13-9 win over Aquinas, McQuaid Jesuit (12-3) won the GRALL Championship tonight. Aquinas took an early lead, but the Knights came back to a 3-3 tie by then end of the first quarter and then never lost the lead. Ryan McEvily led with 4g-1a and Jack Bilitier added 3g. Jon Gaglio made 12 saves for McQuaid Jesuit including 7 in the second Quarter. McQuaid Jesuit ends the regular season with a 12-3 record. Full Story |

Wednesday: DAY IN REVIEW: With three games on the last Wednesday, Brighton (8-7) beat HF-L (11-5) in a Monroe County Cross-Over game at Brighton. Brady McDermott scored 6g-1a and Owen Ronchetti added 3g for the Barons while goalie Caleb Green made 13 saves (59%). Penn Yan used six goals in the fisrt quarter on their way to a victory over Marcus Whitman. Conner Fingar led the Mustang offense with 5g-3a and Austin Blumbergs added 3g-3a. Fairport (11-4) took off in the third quaretr after a 3-1 half and coasted to a 10-4 win over Orchard Park (9-6) of section 6. Thursday: DAY IN REVIEW: With only five games left in the regular season eight games were played today. Canandaigua (9-7) had eight players on the offensive book as they defeated Pal-Mac (10-6). Mark Belles had 2g-2a for the Braves. Geneva (10-6) was a 12-5 victor over visiting Greece Dugan Doeblin scored five goals and senior goalie Jacob Drennen finished with 11 saves (73%) for the Panthers. Friday: DAY IN REVIEW: The regular season ended today with five games played and most of them had an impact of the tournament seeding. Gates Chili played the game of the season as they scored 15 goals and held Eastridge to 14 with Kyle Krystan leading the scoring with 4g-3a. The regular season ended on Friady with four of the five games played having an impact of the tournament seeding. Fairport, for example, played Corning and earned a 75% season with their win. Everyone team that played Fairport this year earned additional points toward seeding with that win. The Tournament seeding was released on Friday night and the games will begin on May 21st. Monday: DAY IN REVIEW: As it happens in the outbracket round, upsets make for excitement and the 2018 edition saw three out of five games won by the lower seeded team. In Class B, Churchville-Chili avenged an earlier loss by beating Spencerport 7-5. Brighton and Canandagigua had no difficulty with their lower seeds by beating Brockport and Gates Chili. Sophomore John Reagan scored the game winning goal in the first overtime period to give second seeded Wayne the 11-10 win over third seeded HFL. The Cougars took over the game early scoring five of the first six goals to take a 5-1 lead early in the second quarter. Garrett Ruff scored two early goals for the Cougars to set the pace. Top seeded Victor held fifth seeded Schroeder scoreless for 39 minutes spanning all four quarters to defeat the Warriors 7-4. Second seeded Webster Thomas came out and dominated in their 16-7 win over third seed McQuaid Jesuit. The Titans scored six unanswered in the first quarter and increased their lead to 11-2 at the end of the first half. In the second half, McQuaid Jesuit just couldn’t make up the difference. Geneva defeated Wayne 13-2 to win the Section Five Class C Championship. This is the first win for the Panthers since 2008. Geneva was led in scoring by junior midfielder Sam Miller with 3g-2a. Miller was named Most Valuable Player for the Class C All Tournament Team. Full Story |

Penfield held off a late press by Fairport to become the Class A Champions with a 9-8 win over the Red Raiders. This is the first Sectional Title for Penfield since 2013. The Patriots and Red Raiders have now face three times in the Title Game and Penfield now has a 2-1 lead. Prior to today, Fairport defeated Penfield in 2012 and Penfield defeated Fairport in 1993. Alexander Mabbett scored off a feed from Joey Pezzimenti 1:59 into the second overtime period to give Victor the 10-9 win over Webster Thomas. This is the fifth consecutive win for the Blue Devils. Victor started off the game strong and took an early 5-2 in the second quarter. They continued to put up points and increased their lead to 7-3 with 9:50 remaining in the third quarter. After that Thomas put on the back-burners. They scored four straight goals before Victor added their 8th. The Titans continued to push all the way through the fourth and into the two overtime periods. Both teams had shots at the cage in overtime and it was edge of your seat lacrosse for both periods. Penn Yan won their 23rd Section Five Title tonight with an 8-6 win over Aquinas. The Mustangs took an early 6-1 lead and held off the late advances by Aquinas. The Little Irish scored five of the last seven goals to pull within two. The Final Aquinas goal was scored with 7:21 remaining and the final seven minutes were back and forth play with Penn Yan holding the ball and Aquinas trying to force their shots. Full Story |

Wednesday: DAY IN REVIEW: Penn Yan won their 23rd Section Five Title tonight with an 8-6 win over Aquinas. The Mustangs will now travel to Section 6 (All High Stadium) for a 10 AM game against Akron (17-1) on Saturday. It took two overtime periods for Victor to win their fifth consecutive Championship as Alexander Mabbett scored the game winner with a pass form Joey Pezzimenti for the 10-9 win over Webster Thomas.
