Thirteen Games on Thursday

Most games were predictable but there were a few unexpected scores as thirteen games were played on Thursday. Greece Athena/Odyssey beat Brighton 5-4, Geneva beat Penn Yan 8-6, Newark took Midlakes 9-7 and HFL was the winner over Rush-Henrietta 14-12. Full Story

Canandaigua Over Thomas

In the two games played on Friday, Canandaigua took a 10-1 halftime lead to a 16-6 victory over Thomas and Haverling was the 13-3 winner over Mynderse.

Pittsford Day

A full day of lacrosse games took place in Pittsford today, capped off with a last minute win by the Panthers over Gates Chili 11-10. Hilton was a 15-3 winner over Spencerport, Livonia won their game (16-11) over Midlakes, and Pal-Mac was the 12-11 winner over Batavia. Out of area games included JD's win over Geneva (18-7) and Sweet Home over Victor (14-6). Full Story

Penfield remains undefeated with an 11-5 win over Fairport. In other contests Ath/Ody was the winner over Batavia, Thomas over Brighton, Gates over Brockport, Hilton over Eastridge and Schroeder over Pittsford. Both Penfield and Canandaigua remain undefeated with games that were easily won today. Canandaigua beat Mynderse 21-4 and Penfield beat Rush-Henrietta 20-7. Other winners included Brockport, HFL, Churchville, Thomas, Canandaigua and Penn Yan. Full Story

Canandaigua and Midlakes Win

Canandaigua remains undefeated and made it clear that they are able to beat Orchard Park (of Buffalo), who has, for the 13 years has represented Section Six in the NYS tournaments. Canandaigua played three strong quarters and held off a late Quaker offensive to defeat Orchard Park 11-9. In the other Friday afternoon game, Midlakes broke a five game losing streak to beat Pal-Mac 6-2 in Finger Lakes-2 action. Full Story

Section Five teams won four games and lost two to out of Section games today. Winning were McQuaid Jesuit (10-9 OT) over St. Francis, Penfield (15-6) over Binghamton, Geneva (12-4) over Marcellus, and Pittsford (7-3 unconfirmed) over Frontier. Full Story

Close Games - Irondequoit Wins

Irondequoit avenged their first season meeting with Penfield and in a close one, ended the Patriots undefeated season. In other close games HFL beat Eastridge 9-7, Canandaigua remains the only undefeated Section Five team with a 9-7 win over Penn Yan, McQuaid Jesuit over Corning West (16-14) and Schroeder played a close one winning 8-6 over Fairpor Full Story

Three Games on Friday

With only five games left in the regular season, three were played today. Livonia finished their season with a 16-5 win over Pal-Mac, Spencerport finished with a 9-5 win over Batavia and The Greece Lightning lost to Corning West 18-4 in Friday action. Full Story

Last Two Games

It was "Make Up Day" and with the relatively good weather this season, there were only two games to be made up. The Webster braggin' rights went to Thomas who defeated Schroeder 10-3. Haverling finished up with an 8-6 victory over Midlakes. Full Story

Canandaigua, Geneva and Penn Yan Take Top Seeds

In Class A, Canandigua took the top seed. The undefeated Braves averaged 8.1 seeding pointed per game, more than a half point higher than Irondequoit (#2) and almost a full point higher than Penfield (#3). Full Story

As usual, it was generally a lot to a little in the out bracket games. As every Section Five team was entered in one of the three tournaments, the first round in Class A most games ended in blow outs. Full Story

Class B Quarter Finals

Eastridge (#6) won a stunning victory over Victor (#3) in the first round of the Class B tournament this afternoon. The Lancers scored 9 goals in the first half and ended the game up 15-9. Aquinas (#2) had a 12-5 win against Brighton (#7) and HFL beat Newark 18-2. Full Story
