Post Season Play 2020
After the regular season, there are several championship opportunities for teams that qualify. First up are the Section Five Tournaments for four classes (A-B-C-D). |
There are FOUR classes again this year.
In 2016, and after much debate, the NYSPHSAA reorganized the New York State Tournaments into four classes and so there will be four tournaments at both the sectional and state levels again this year. The last change occured in 2000 when the state moved from two to three classes.
Sectionals winners then compete for their regional championships in what some call the "State Quarterfinals".
Winners then play in the semi finals and finals to win the New York State Champions. The BLaxFive Calendar maps out the dates.
The Championships will be held at Hofstra University for the next three years.
The Bracket page includes printable PDF files for each Class Tournament.
2020 Section Five Lacrosse
Championships Sponsor
Once again, Section Five Boys Lacrosse has a corporate sponsor for the tournaments which culminates in the crowning of champions. The Canandaigua National Bank and Trust will provide, along with general support, plaques for players named to this year`s All Tournament team, certificates for All Sectional Five Lacrosse award winners and plaques for each of the winning tournament coaches. Section Five Lacrosse is fortunate to have such great neighbors as friends.
