EDITOR'S NOTE: This weekly summary touches on some of the games played in the recent past and highlights some games of interest in the current week. For more in-depth coverage, click on the DAY OF THE WEEK for more coverage for that day, including box scores, articles, and galleries.
There were fourty-five games played last week and although there were some exciting ones there continued to be a large number of mismatches. With travel concerns this season there are only ten out of section games scheduled and eight have been played. Section Five has won seven.

Looking Back
Given the shortened schedule this spring, games were played Monday through Sunday.
On Monday,
May 24th senior attackman Brady Knauf scored the last of his 5g-1a in the second overtime period to give Gates Chili a 12-11 win at Gananda tonight. Meanwhile, in Canandaigua defense was the name of the game as the Braves defeated McQuaid Jesuit 4-1. The other seven games were mismatches in which the winners outscore their opponents 105-24.
On Tuesday, Bloomfield-Honeoye scored four goals in the second quarter on their way to a 6-5 win over visiting Mynderse. Pal-Mac scored seven goals in the third quarter to beat Livonia-Avon 13-10 on the senior night in Avon.
Haverling scored seven goals in the second quarter on their way to a 15-10 win over Geneva.
On Wednesday The only game that was close today was the one the everyone was talking about all season, as two undefeated teams met and only one would continue with the possibility of a perfect season. In the end, Webster Thomas scored four goals in the final quarter to score a 7-5 victory over Canandaigua.
On Thursday The game of the night was Haverling at Pal-Mac where the teams were tied eight times. Haverling broke the last tie when Ezra Hoad scored the winning goal giving the Rams a 10-9 win. Drew Smith score four goals in the fourth quarter including the game winner to give Gananda the 9-8 win over Midlakes-Red Jacket.
On Friday, in another exciting game, Victor beat Thomas with three goals in the last quarter to remain undefeated with the 9-6 victory at home. Pittsford beat Irondequoit 8-6 with four unanswered goals in the fourth quarter. Four extra goals in the first quarter gave HF-L the win over Rush-Henrietta.
On Saturday there were just three games in the section today. Livonia beat Wayne despite a strong comeback. McQuaid Jesuit beat Webster Schroeder and Bloomfield-Honeoye was a 14-3 winner over Batavia.
The week ended on Sunday and Fairport lost St. Joseph`s 10-9.
Looking Ahead
Three of the undefeated lost a game last week. Canandaigua fell to Thomas in a great game and then Thomas fell to Victor in another great game. 
Spencerport lost to Penfield and so as we enter the last week of the regular season, there are only two undefeated teams left, Penn Yan and Victor. The Mustangs had three games left, the first 11-1 Marcus Whitman, the second with Gananda and on Saturday, when they host Canandaigua (also 11-1). Victor also will play Canandaigua (on Memorial Day), and then will play Pittsford and Brighton.
Saturday is the last day of the regular season and the tournament seeding will be out on Sunday. There will be out-bracket games for Classes B and D on Monday, June 7th. All quarterfinal games will be on Wednesday. The semifinals for classes C and D will on Friday and the semifinals for classes A and B will be on Saturday. The championship games will be on Monday (for C and D) and Tuesday, June 15th (for A and B). All games are at the higher seeded team this year. There is more information on the tournament page.
There are two games scheduled for Memorial Day this year. Penfield is at Irondequoit and Victor at Canandaigua could be an exciting game between two matched teams.
There are eight games currently scheduled for Tuesday. Spencerport at McQuaid Jesuit could be a good one and so is Newark at Waterloo. Penn Yan (11-0) travels to Marcus Whitman (11-1) and Pal-Mac (10-3) is at Geneva 8-5).
On Wednesday there are eleven games scheduled. Victor is at Pittsford, East United-Eastridge is at Batavia and Hilton (5-9) is at Rush-Henrietta (5-7).
On Thursday there are six games scheduled. Irondequoit is at Fairport and Geneva at Wayne could be a good one. Also look for Bloomfield-Honeoye ate Newark.
On Friday there are another six games planned. Mynderse is at Waterloo, McQuaid Jesuit is at Thomas and Gananda is at Newark.
On the last day of the regular season, there are currently six games scheduled. At noon Canandaigua will be at Penn Yan. When the day is done, the seeding for the tournament will begin.
