After outscoring Eastridge 6-3 in the second half, Brockport defeated the Lancers 12-9. This was the first win for the Blue Devils over the Lancers since April 2013. Penn Yan has a young squad this year that includes three 8th graders, two freshmen and three sophomores, but they still behave as one of the most disciplined teams in the Section. T.D. Ierlan started out this year right where he left off last year, winning seventeen of twenty face offs for the Blue Devils (85%). On paper, Pittsford looked strong in the preseason with a strong mixture of dominate offensive players and a returning defense that was already proven last year. In a rare Sunday game in Section Five, The Worthington Kilbourne Wolves from Ohio used three goals in the first quarter and three in the last quarter to beat the Mustangs 7-3 in Penn Yan this morning.
