Brockport Over Eastridge 12-9

After outscoring Eastridge 6-3 in the second half, Brockport defeated the Lancers 12-9. This was the first win for the Blue Devils over the Lancers since April 2013. The game was high scoring with both teams scoring on over 30% of their total shots. The majority of the scoring came from three players.  Full Story

Fairport started off with a 2-1 first quarter that lasted to halftime, but the Wildcats came back in the second half for the win. Fairport Head Coach Mike Torrelli said even in the loss, he was proud of his team. Full Story

Penn Yan 14 - Geneva 3

 Penn Yan has a young squad this year that includes three 8th graders, two freshmen and three sophomores, but they still behave as one of the most disciplined teams in the Section. Junior goalie Gage Ponsetti had a good day in the goal for the Mustangs (67%) and senior Ben Covert(5g) was a dominating force at the midfield. Full Story

Victor Over Corning

T.D. Ierlan started out this year right where he left off last year, winning seventeen of twenty face offs for the Blue Devils (85%). His dominance at the "X" helped give Victor a 43-25 shooting advantage and his team leading twelve ground balls helped give Victor a 44-18 ground ball advantage. Full Story

Canandaigua Starts Season With a Win

Canandaigua Head Coach Mulheron was generally pleased with this first game of the 2015 campaign, "For an early season game this was very well played. We are very pleased to come out on the winning end of this battle." Full Story

Pittsford Over Ithaca in Opener

On paper, Pittsford looked strong in the preseason with a strong mixture of dominate offensive players and a returning defense that was already proven last year. In their opening today, they solidified that impression. Senior midfielder Brandon Barker was pretty much unstoppable from the front and the long sticks look like they are at mid-season. Full Story

Smithtown West Gets Shutout

Penfield senior goalie, Willie Klan, had an outstanding day with 18 saves. Smithtown West face off specialist Dan Varello (Syracuse) won 11/11 and was a big factor in the game. Full Story

Hilton 12 - Oswego 7

Hilton played a close three quarter with Oswego (Section III) before scoring the final five goals of the game to secure a 12-7 victory. Full Story

The Screaming Eagles came out strong against the Little Irish, but a more consistent four quarters gave Aquinas a win and a 2-1 record. Aquinas defeated Wayne 7-6 with the last two goals of the game.  Full Story

Canandaigua, Victor, Irondequoit and Churchville-Chili Top Class B

After a triple overtime win in the Class B Finals last season, Canandaigua returns at the top of the pack.  The Braves lost their next game to the Section VI Champion Hamburg.  They return fifty-two percent of their roster this season with fourteen new players joining the team.  Full Story

CA Braves Over Geneva

Senior midfielder/face off specialist Nick Johnson gave the Canandaigua Braves lots of offensive opportunities, winning thirteen of sixteen face offs. Of their sixteen goals, thirteen were assisted. Full Story

McQuaid Jesuit 10 - Irondequoit 9

The game went back and forth in the first quarter, but McQuaid took control in the middle two quarters in their 10-9 win over Irondequoit. The Knights led, 10-5, early in the last quarter, but Irondequoit scored the next four goals. The Knights were able to control the ball for the last two minutes of the game. Full Story

Fairport 13 - Ithaca 7

Fairport took the ride to Ithaca where they used an eight goal three quarter to cement a 13-7 win against the Little Red. Ten different players helped out on the offensive end and junior goalie Tyler Wetzel made ten saves (58%) to give the Red Raiders a win in their season opener. Full Story

Thomas Takes Out Frontier

Webster Thomas has the only game in town today as they hosted Frontier from Section Six. After scoring the first first goals, they finished the half at 9-1 while senior goalie, Davis Bird made two saves (67%) and junior goalie Ben Yonko made three saves (100%) for the Titans. Full Story

West Islip Over Visiting Penfield

Penfield started their spring trip to Long Island where they found a very strong West Islip team ready to hand them a 15-5 loss. Senior goalie Willie Klan faced twenty-eight shots and had a 57% day in three quarters in the goal. Senior attackman Max Spaan led the offensive effort with 2g-2a. Full Story

Worthington Kilbourne Wins One From Penn Yan

In a rare Sunday game in Section Five, The Worthington Kilbourne Wolves from Ohio used three goals in the first quarter and three in the last quarter to beat the Mustangs 7-3 in Penn Yan this morning. Junior attackman Sean Emerson led the Mustang effort with 1g-2a while junior goalie Gage Ponsetti posted a 56% day in the cage. Full Story
