 The first verbal commitment of the year by a sophomore in Section Five was announced yesterday as Webster Schroeder goalie Willie Klan announced his decision to play at Ohio State after his expected graduation in 2015.  Webster Schroeder High School rising senior Kenny Nelson recently announced his commitment to play lacrosse at Mercyhurst University (Erie, PA). The attackman, was the team leader in goals and points with 29g-5a last year. Off-season he had been on the Nike Upstate Rising junior team, and last summer played on the Brine National tournament where he was named a Brine All-American. He also played on the Western Team in the Empire Cup Tournament in Syracuse. Full Story |

| Andrew Schoeneck Chooses Bellarmine |

 Andrew Schoeneck recently announced his decision to attend Bellarmine University after his senior year at Penfield. Schoeneck had a strong 2012 season where the left-handed attackman scored 46g-17a and was selected to the first team Monroe County D1 list. He was also named to the Class A All Sectional team. Off season he has been a member of the Rochester Brine All American team that played in July and won the Brine National Classic. He played his club lacrosse with the Rochester Blaze. Full Story |

| Penn Yan Alumnus Picked for Notre Dame Job |

 2002 Penn Yan attackman and Notre Dame alumnus (2006) Matt Karweck was recently appointed as an Assistant Coach for the Fighting Irish. Karweck, a Section Five All-Tournament player as a junior, helped the Mustangs win Sectional titles all four years and was part of the 2001 State Championship team as well. Full Story |

 Derek Richards has made the decision to play at D-2 powerhouse, Mercyhurst University, after his graduation next spring. The attackman has been playing on Hilton Varsity squad since his freshman year and hit the century mark for points this year after posting a 21g-39a junior season. Fairport coach, Eric Carlsen has announced the players selected to play in this weekend's Nike Rising Senior games. The games began as a replacement for the former Empire State Games which were canceled as part of a financial cutback by NYS.
